Third Person P.O.V (Ling Yao)

A Self-Imposed Mission

Another scroll was placed on the table as Ling Yao leaned back in his seat, swaying and keeping his balance without the slightest effort.

"Is there really no other clue?~" He almost sang in a relaxed tone, though his half-open eyes told another story, deadly serious and focused, his mind working at full speed, considering his options.

'Should I wait for that mission in another world to try to find a different solution?' He thought before yawning, stretching his arms to take the tension out of his back and arms.

It was already several hours of another day that he spent in his family's library, looking for a clue that would lead him to the philosopher's stone.

'Ah, if only that Ryuichi-boy finished his own mission quickly then maybe he would consider that option more.' He complained a little, not caring about the fact that he was actually 16 years old and Ryuichi was 17, so it wasn't really right to treat the boy from another world as his junior.

But Ling Yao was a thick-skinned brazen guy, so the idea of treating Ryuichi with respect for being older than him felt as unlikely as the possibility of the Philosopher's Stone falling into his lap right now.

Standing up and turning off the flashlight on the table, he walked towards his room while yawning and stretching his arms again.

"Good job today too, I'm going to go to sleep, see you tomorrow." He made a sign and as soon as he left the room, in the shadows that covered the library two figures moved, making barely the slightest noise as they walked.

Walking down the hallway of his residence, Ling Yao covered his mouth with one hand as he yawned, to anyone who saw him, it would seem that he was more relaxed than before, but the truth was that his mind had not stopped working, thinking about his next actions.

'Should I go to the ruins of that kingdom to try to investigate a little?' The legend of the philosopher of the West was well known throughout Xing, and thanks to the benefit he had obtained from the chat, his mind had been more focused than ever, so it was relatively easier to process much more information in less time than before, and the few bits of relevant information he had gathered pointed to two places.

The extinct kingdom of Xerxes, where the philosopher of the West supposedly came from, and the country of Amestris, which had a couple of mentions among the scrolls he had reviewed, and it was also a place where alchemy was more present and was slightly different from that practiced in Xing.

Multiple options, multiple questions, and all equally risky to reach a single answer.

Ling hummed, he had thought about it before, and now it reaffirmed his idea, the other worlds were fine, they were attractive both in the possible answers they had to his problem and in the knowledge and treasures that could give him multiple advantages over his half-siblings, but seeing the whole big picture it was not a good idea to expect it to be the solution to his current problem.

This problem he was facing had come before the chat, and the possible solution too, so he would trust and bet on his own world, while he would consider the chat and the other worlds as "optional solutions" that he would resort to if he reached a dead end, or "priority solutions" if the chat gave him a mission before finding the philosopher's stone.

But for the moment, he was going to concentrate on Xerxes and Amestris, there was not too much information about those places, but he would gather as much as he could and then set out to fulfill his own self-imposed mission.

Leaving this thought aside, he arrived at his room, and there was already a hot bowl of soup, some steamed buns, a portion of rice with meat, and a steaming cup of tea.

Ling Yao did not stop or feel surprised, after all it was obvious that his servants would have everything ready by the time he left the library, and out of consideration they let him eat in silence so that he could rest properly after studying for so many hours.

So, without further delay, the prince sat down in front of the circular wooden table and began to eat without paying attention to anything, simply enjoying a break.

Or at least that's what it would seem to any observer, because as he filled his stomach, a semi-transparent blue box appeared in front of Ling Yao.

WELCOME BACK TO THE ALTERNATE MULTIVERSE CHAT ROOM, LING YAO

Ling Yao has joined!

During all the time that had passed since the appearance of the chat room until now, the prince had kept a short but constant time of practice to control his actions in the chat room without them being apparent to anyone who was in front of him, after all, it would not be wise for anyone to catch him staring into space with a concentrated expression.

Besides, of course, interacting with his fellow group members, after all, although he was focused and determined to get the treasure that already existed in his world, he also wanted to, eventually, take a look at those other worlds, and how could he not, there was magic in some, objects that seemed technologically advanced in others and even people with animal ears in another.

So, while he ate, he watched all the conversations that had taken place since he last logged in 2 days ago.

He was especially interested in the story Ryuichi had told yesterday about how the whole thing with those fallen angels had ended, so his dinner was accompanied by the story of the rescue of a devil that seemed to have a dragon sealed inside.

Minutes passed, and all the food on the table was eventually finished, just in time to read the end of Ryuichi's story.

But there was still some more conversation left, so he continued reading even as he prepared to sleep, which ended in utter disappointment when he realized that Ryuichi had started his mission a little over 20 hours ago.

He really wished he could be there to give a few words, mostly a bit mocking, to lighten the mood that Leone strained by saying something like "Don't go to die".

He really didn't wish any harm on Ryuichi, it was like Ling Yao himself had said a while ago, everyone was in the same boat, so as long as one was doing well, it was more likely that when there were group missions, everything would be easier and more bearable.

So with that in mind, Ling Yao decided to leave a message full of his classic sense of humor for Ryuichi to see when he came online.

Ling Yao: Hey Ryu, what's that other world like? Is it exciting? Is there good food? Bring me a souvenir, will you? If it's something good enough, I promise that when I become king I'll let you be my vassal.

Rereading the message sent, Ling Yao gave himself a thumbs up for his eloquence and creativity before finishing his preparations for sleep, he could see Ryuichi's response and laugh a little tomorrow.

That kid would be fine, he had come out relatively well from his encounters with devils and fallen angels.

Besides, it was the first mission, so it shouldn't be something too complicated, so he could surely handle whatever that world threw at him, after all, he couldn't be so unlucky as to get into serious trouble so quickly after arriving, right?

Third Person P.O.V (Leone)

Complicated Questions Are Not For Simple People

The rapist killer's neck snapped, showing the same resistance to the attack that a dry twig would put up, and after that, the body fell limp in front of the woman with her clothes torn.

"AHHH!" The woman screamed in fear, falling to a sitting position on the dirty ground, her legs completely unable to keep her upright.

Her trembling gaze moved towards the figure that had ended the life of the man who tried to force himself on her in an alley, but due to the moon shining high in the sky behind her, she could only make out the most notable features, such as the wild blonde hair, the feline ears on her head and the amber eyes that seemed to glow in the dark.

Menacing, oppressive, and powerful, the woman on the ground instinctively knew all of that as soon as she saw her, and yet, something inside her told her that she was not in danger.

The figure wasted no time and after confirming that she seemed to be uninjured, turned around and jumped, reaching the roof of a two-story house without further problem.

But before she could jump again, her feline ears twitched, and she turned her head to look at the woman, this was because she heard the "thank you" that the defenseless woman said in a low voice.

From the new angle, the moonlight revealed Leone's face, who smiled at the woman before looking forward again and jumping, her figure soon getting lost in the tumult of the night.

The Next Day

"Awwhh." Leone yawned as she walked with her back slightly bent, yesterday she had returned to the base a little later than expected, so she woke up a few hours later than she normally did.

In front of her face appeared the semi-transparent blue box that she had recently had to live with.

WELCOME BACK TO THE ALTERNATE MULTIVERSE CHAT ROOM, LEONE

Leone was not surprised or startled, it was true that, at least at first, it was a little strange to get used to something so random and peculiar, but when you lived knowing that any day could be the last, you ended up creating a kind of resistance to strange things, so she only gave the box a short glance before her eyes returned to the front, after all, she didn't want to crash into anyone for not paying attention.

"What are the others doing?" She wondered when she reached the kitchen and did not see any of her Night Raid partners, although a second after asking herself she heard a slight familiar rumble in the distance.

"Oh, are they at it again?" She wondered as she grabbed a jug of water and drank it all in record time.

"Phew, that's just what I needed." She said before wiping the bit of water left on the corners of her lips with her forearm. "Well, I don't really know what time it is, but let's see who Akame dragged to training today, I bet it was Bulat again." She said in an animated tone, and as she walked through the halls, she paid attention to the chat box to distract herself a bit.

Leone has joined!

A single glance was enough to see that there were no new messages since yesterday, the last one being the farewell given by the one she had nicknamed "kiddo" or just "kid" depending on whether she wanted to talk more or less.

Kaname Ryuichi: I'm leaving, there are a little more than 3 minutes left, so I need to find a private place, I don't want to scare anyone if a portal opens in front of me or if I end up wrapped in lights before disappearing.

He said, and at that moment, Leone came up with a very personal way of saying goodbye.

Anna Stuart: I wish you good luck.

Leone: Don't go to die.

Anna Stuart:…

Kaname Ryuichi:…

Leone: What?

Kaname Ryuichi: Adorable.

Leone immediately knew that the boy was making a "really?" face as he spoke in a flat tone.

Leone: That's what I tell all my companions when they go on a mission.

She lied, in retrospect maybe saying that to a newbie who until recently seemed to have lived in a completely peaceful place wasn't the best thing, but she wasn't going to apologize for it, if she did, it would be admitting defeat, and she wasn't going to do that.

Kaname Ryuichi: Anyway, I promise to at least do my best to get back in one piece, I'll log in once I find a safe place to stay, when night falls, or if I discover something important, whichever comes first.

And after saying that, the boy logged out, the conversation with Anna was brief after that, simply her asking if she thought Ryuichi would really be okay, and her answering that it would all depend on the mindset with which he had decided to face the mission.

Leone couldn't imagine what Ryuichi's life was really like before the appearance of the chat, but from the little she had seen of his world during the "video call" and what he told them about his daily life and school, it was easy to assume a rather protected and peaceful environment, at least if they didn't count the so-called "supernatural world" that the boy had been involved in.

The blonde woman wondered what that would be like, a peaceful life, saying that she longed for it wouldn't be completely true, but denying it could also be classified as a lie, and a much bigger one than the first statement.

If the revolutionary army managed to achieve victory and she survived until after that, could she live in an environment as peaceful as the one that apparently existed in Ryuichi's world?

The current government was a cancer, a tumor that had to be removed so the rest of the body could even begin to hope to heal, the problem was that neither she, nor her partners Night Raid members, nor the revolutionary army were "doctors".

If she had to make a comparison, then she would say that they would all be more like butchers, so in the process of removing the cancer from the body there would be collateral damage, there would be unnecessary injuries, and hidden parts that would not be removed.

But, even so, if they won... no, when they won, Leone would be able to live in a "peaceful" place?

Leone had been through so many complicated situations that, although she loved to relax and just be as lazy as possible, she had also grown accustomed to and was drawn to the excitement, the "normality and monotony" would be a poison for her, but one that she was willing to take from time to time, even more so if she could do it with the few people she considered her friends.

Arriving at the courtyard at the same time as dismissing the screen, Leone stopped asking herself complicated questions that she had neither the time nor the desire to think about, and was just in time to see the clash of Akame and Bulat's weapons.

"Well, look at that, it seems I was right." She said leaning on the stone railing to see a little better.

The fight between 2 Teigu users was always something curious to see, especially when it was between people as strong and skilled as Akame and Bulat, although, of course, it was quite easy to see that Akame seemed to be at a disadvantage.

Leone couldn't blame her, she might be deadly, but Bulat was a monster in his own right, his strength and endurance were not to be taken lightly.

Sword and spear clashed again, and Akame skidded back a little, breathing heavily, as sweat dripped down her forehead.

Leone saw something out of the corner of her eye, and several meters away from the training camp, her boss, Najenda made a sign to her, and she understood immediately.

Yesterday before going to sleep, she had met her, apparently both were back at the same time, then she had informed her that it seemed that they would soon receive a new mission, and she was just waiting for the apparent confirmation that should arrive in a few hours.

And among those in charge of providing help in Tekido would be Akame.

Because of this Najenda had asked Leone to make sure that the black-haired and red-eyed assassin relaxed a bit and rested before leaving on her mission, so seeing that the fight between Bulat and Akame was interrupted, she jumped from the balcony, managing to catch Akame, carrying her on her shoulder as if she were a sack of rice and walking away while ignoring her protests.

"This will be a girls' night". Leone said as if she expected that sentence to explain everything.

So, as she walked away with an Akame who seemed to have resigned herself to being kidnapped on her shoulders to have a meeting with the rest of the female members of her team, Leone thought one last time about the chat, her other "partners", and the missions they might have to do together soon.

Leone wasn't averse to making friends, but she sincerely hoped that when they met face to face, none of them were idiots or bastards whose necks she would have to break, who knows, maybe if her relationship with any of those 5 turned out to be good enough she could invite them to join Night Raid.

After all, if just one of them agreed to come to help her she could avoid the penalty and tell her boss about the chat, she was sure that Najenda could find out one or two things about this chat that she hadn't noticed, and in that way, they could get some advantage against the enemies in the capital, because with people like Esdeath or Budou, they would need all the advantages they could get.

X-X-X-X-X

Well, here is the first half of the extra stories, these mainly serve to give the general thoughts of the chat members, what they think about Ryuichi, and to show where we are in the timeline.

In Ling Yao's case, he will soon leave Xing and cross the desert.

In Leone's case, the story is one chapter away from the end of the Akame Ga Kill Zero manga.

In the next chapter, we will see Henrietta and Kyujin's perspectives, and there will not be one from Rem because she already appeared in the last chapter.

Remember that the poll to see if Ryuichi gets a harem or not and what story you want (a What If or a Side Story) ends in 2 weeks, so if you want to vote you can do it on my P-atreon.
