Cynthia only felt relieved when she heard that her father had failed to be contacted. She had to fight back the scowl full of disgust, along with the urge to vomit that rose within her at the thought of sharing the news with her father.
She straightened her expression, even as stomach churned, and lowered her voice to not let it show her turmoil, before she asked:
"Is it possible to remove the number of my father from my mother's file? Please. I can take care of the expenses for my mother. I can also make all the decisions."
Despite her efforts, the nurse had noticed the change in her, and with the request she was making, the latter understood that there was a story to the matter, one like the many this hospital had been witness to before. Especially as she saw the concussion, along with the other details of Helen's diagnosis when she was brought to the hospital.
