The question was audible to many in the silence, but Evelyn didn't reply. She didn't even care that he made no mention of her appearance. She only shook her head with a smile, not feeling like replying to the offhanded question. She had thought that Daemon would not come, but seeing him arrive like that at this moment, and knowing he only came for her, caused her heart to feel soothed, her eyes feeling even more moist but for a different reason.
Daemon could not stop the helpless feeling that arose in his heart. Really, though he knew the mother of his son well, her tendencies of not seeking redress when wronged would never cease to get that reaction out of him.
He didn't say much, only smiling at her, before raising his head. He didn't need to say anything when he looked at Dinaia. He followed her gaze to a man he could tell was in an abnormal state.
He looked at him deeply, before saying in a low voice:
"Marc Trevor."
