Allan and the group watched the scene. They could feel the rejection from the apologetic smile on Evelyn's face even from where they were. And to no one's surprise, Marc didn't get the hint, whether intentionally or not.
And as he pushed his luck, they could see Evelyn's expression go from gentle, to at the end let a little of her displeasure show. And just like the brunette in the group had predicted earlier, Dinaia, who had been held back before, snapped. They could not hear her words from where they were, and they could not see their friend's face, with his back to them, but they could feel their imagination fill the missing pieces, leaving them partly amused, partly helpless, and partly disgusted.
