"Was that Connel's car?"
Dinaia asked, as she returned her friend's veil to her. Because she had turned to do so, she had seen the white SUV from the corner of her eyes. But as the two turned to take a better look, the car was already gone.
"Are you sure? If it's him, he should not have left, he should be coming for the gathering."
Dinaia noticed the slight expectation in Evelyn's words, and her expression turned peculiar:
"You don't want to two-time Daemon, do you?"
Evelyn froze, unsure about whether she should feel offended at her friend's playful joke. The latter laughed:
"Don't look like that. Daemon is back, and you are now looking for Connel?"
Evelyn finally exhaled and rolled her eyes charmingly:
"Since when do you defend Daemon?"
"Since I need him for my lifetime happiness."
Evelyn was speechless at the realistic answer. She shook her head:
"Then you should try to flatter him."
"Never."
