The next morning, Daemon's car pulled over in front of the office building of Green Industries.
"Have a good day."
The car's door went up at its usual pace, while Daemon had his go-to light smile that gave him a smooth but dark charm:
"See you at the end of the day."
Evelyn's smile became a little more pronounced, and with a wave of her hand, she left the car. This time, she stopped herself from looking back, or at least, she tried. Just before turning the corner, her gaze met the dark, smiling eyes of Daemon who was still in place, with his window lowered.
Only when she was not visible anymore did he raise his window back up and get on the road.
Evelyn's smile lingered on her lips even as she arrived at her desk.
"Morning, everyone."
"Morning, Evelyn."
