"Dad, we are here!"
It was the next day after Jason's birthday. Daemon stopped his car in front of a compound that was far from the city center.
The place looked a little old, but well kept. It was a little spacious, judging from the length of the wall. Beside the large gate, there was a plaque that read "Blue Peak Orphanage".
Daemon was not alone with his son in the car. Evelyn was sitting shotgun, but as he stopped, no one went down yet. After a moment of silence, Daemon asked:
"You have been coming here with Jason?"
Evelyn smiled:
"In the little spare times that I have, I wanted to be of some help, so I took to doing volunteer work here. It is also a good way for Jason to have more friends. And also…"
Evelyn turned to look at Daemon's profile:
"Maybe I wanted something to keep you with me."
Silence descended, before Daemon asked something irrelevant:
"Do you remember my birthday?"
