Silence descended, and it was only when the car stopped that she had her mind return to reality.
Turning around, she was met with the sight of Daemon looking at her with a smile. His gaze made her feel transparent, unnerving her:
"What?"
"Don't think too much. Time will do its work. We have time, and I'm not going anywhere."
Daemon leaned back in his seat and added:
"See you in a few hours, and have a good day."
The last statement managed to make Evelyn shift her focus:
"In a few hours? Will you be waiting for me again?"
She got the answer from his smile, so she couldn't help but ask with a smile along with a bit of teasing:
"What, are you trying to be my driver now?"
Daemon made a thinking expression before saying pensively:
"I'm overqualified, but I can do with that." He looked her in the eyes and added something they both understood: "For now."
