Silence descended in the dim corridor of the cheap apartment building. The misty brown eyes looked at the dark eyes that still showed no change.
Seeing Daemon not even deigning to speak, Evelyn birthed a feeling of self-deprecation in her heart. She felt silly for the hope she had nurtured for the last six years.
She was about to close the door, when Daemon placed his left palm on it. He opened his mouth, but instead of speaking, he took back the right hand he had been slightly leaning on, and bent down.
"Blerghhh…"
Evelyn took a step back, and forgot her sadness for a moment. Instead, she widened her eyes with a bit of anger:
"You!!!"
She was being too unlucky tonight already. Now she would have to take care of cleaning the corridor because of a visit she would rather not have had.
