Leaving a perfunctory promise, Daemon went away.
The eyes that lingered on his left cheek were ignored. After all, he was handsome, dressed to the nines, but had bandages on the left side of his face. But they wouldn't remain for long. It could be considered a surprise he kept for Cynthia.
He went to take the stairs.
The venue was on the thirtieth floor, so he would have to descend ten floors to reach his destination, which should let him have more time away from all the strangers he had no interest in.

A few hours ago, while Daemon was trying to come to terms with the new direction of his life, Cynthia woke up happy and excited.
By the time she was done freshening herself up, her three friends arrived. They were just as excited as her, as it was not everyday there was a friend who got engaged.
They shared hugs full of emotions after Cynthia opened the door for them:
