Evelyn turned, and her gaze fell on four women, one of whom she recognized. She felt no discomfort, but her surprise was evident when she noticed the change in temperament of her superior from her old job.
She turned to Daemon, as he was the one who had seen and talked to Cynthia lately. However, Daemon's head was still lowered, his disinterest in what was happening obvious.
Evelyn turned back to Cynthia, sympathy appearing in her gaze, thinking about the loss that had left the previously vivacious and bright woman in that state. She was reminded of her own mother for a moment, before disappointment came to take the place of all the previous emotions.
Evelyn's behavior as she had stopped talking had attracted Dinaia's attention. And the blonde was surprised to see Evelyn go from amused to depressed, having missed the few emotions that flitted through in-between.
