Ryan was shocked, his heart unable to identify the indescribable feelings that came to flood it.
He knew that Jenny had been recuperating at the facility when they had met, and actually, she had almost finished doing so at that time. And that was also the meeting that made him curious enough to look up the mission which brought her there. But it seemed that the censored parts of the file had been hiding more details than he had thought.
Jenny didn't mind Ryan's gaze. She took the glass in front of her, and downed its content, finally also needing it.
After a silence that neither of the two people talking seemed ready to break, or know how to, Ryan opened his mouth, his throat a little dry:
"Is that why?"
He could imagine neither the physical pain, nor the mental one, but he knew that while he could not walk, having his fifth limb and its accessories torn away, or lost to any kind of accident, would be even more difficult to live with.
