Ryan felt as if he had eaten a fly. He had never expected such a side from the usually gentle Evelyn. His lips twitched, then he sighed in front of the droolworthy supercomputer he built for himself in his study back home, and gave up:
"Sigh… You win, Evelyn. Just… don't tattle on me later."
Evelyn nodded despite not knowing whether Ryan could see her, and soon, the display of the computer on the dashboard changed. A video took the place of the previous interface.
"This happened a few years ago, and the footage is a recording of the event."
The footage showed another chaotic hostage situation. Many criminals were holding civilians at gunpoints, and when a little girl stood up, panicked, looking for her mother, a gun was immediately pointed her way.
"Stop!!!"
Evelyn's heart lurched. It didn't matter that what she was seeing was only an old recording.
