The next morning, Candy woke up to see Vlad already dressed and ready to go.
"What's the occasion?" Candy asked.
"Oh Candy, you're awake." Vlad turned to face candy who had a messy hair from being such a dancer when he sleeps. He takes his glasses which were on top of the table in front of the bed. He put it on and his mouth dropped as he was now seeing Vlad clearly.
"I didn't know you were such a diva." Candy gasped and praised as he saw Vlad all dolled up. Vlad was wearing a silk shirt tucked in plain pants. He had several accessories on and his shoes, sparking clean.
"I look great, right?" Vlad said, looking into a mirror and making several poses. "Vlad is just way too pretty. It would be a waste not to take advantage of it." Vlad teased.
"I took a look at the class schedule. I didn't expect it to be all that different from the human educational system, since there are quite a number of things that are similar in both worlds." Vlad expressed.
"You see, Hourglass high is more like a prison than a school." Candy stated.
"What do you mean by that?" Vlad asked.
"Well most creatures in this school are here because their parents don't have time to look after them. So they just send them off here." Candy explained.
"That sounds awful. No wonder I got kicked out of the house as soon as I woke up." Vlad recalled. "Is that the same with you? Did you get kicked out because someone did want you?" Vlad said in a pitiful manner, rushing to Candy to give him a warm hug.
"Actually no." Candy laughed. Vlad broke the hug looking at him confused. "As I said, some. But in my case, I came on my own accord. Hourglass high might have been formed as a prison but the classes and magic courses are top tier and we have principal Conan to thank for that." Candy added.
"It's comfortable here and the library has so many books I couldn't even dream of finding outside the school." Candy said with a big smile.
"I guess you're right. I'll just enjoy my stay here till I find a way to go back." Vlad said.
"Speaking of going back, how are you going to deal with Kevin?" Candy asked. Vlad let out a suspicious grin.
"Do not worry about that my friend for I have created a plan to take him down." Vlad boosted, leaving Candy curious.
"What plan?" Candy asked, his eyes beaming with excitement.
"Operation, become Kevin's friend!" Vlad said proudly. The light in Candy's eyes died immediately.
"What's that lame ass name?" Candy sulked in disappointment.
"Oh come on, it's a pretty decent plan." Vlad said.
"How are you going to make it work?" Candy asked, getting up from the bed. "Kevin dislikes Vampires, and maybe he dislikes you even more." Candy shrugged.
"Look at me Candy. What do you see?" Vlad asked.
"A vampire?" Candy said sarcastically.
"That's right, a beautiful vampire with flawless charm. I'll make Kevin warm up to me in no time." Vlad declared, leaving Candy dumbfounded.
Candy laughed at Vlad's words when his eyes trailed off to something shiny on Vlad's table.
"What's that?" He asked, pointing at the ancient box on Vlad's table.
"Oh! I was going to ask you about it." Vlad said, walking to grab the box and the key from his table and back to Candy. He handed the box over to Candy.
"Do you know how to open it?" Vlad asked. Candy carefully observed the box and took a look at the key.
"I don't know.." Candy said. "I don't think I've seen a box of this type before." Candy said, analyzing the box.
"It looks somewhat familiar but I can't remember where." Candy said. "Give me sometime to find out."
Vlad let's out a smile. "I'll leave it to you then." Vlad said.
"I'll catch up with you later." Candy said, Vlad gave him a confused look. "I need to stop by the library first." Candy added.
"But I don't know my way around here yet. I only got up early because I thought I'd take a while to get ready." Vlad said, scratching the nape of his neck.
"The classroom building is just behind the basketball court." Candy said, ready to go into the bathroom to have a nice warm bath.
"I'll wait for you. We can go to the library together then head to class after." Vlad suggested.
"No." Candy said firmly. "You might not consider yourself as the real Vlad, but keeping up with classes is important." Candy said with a serious expression on his face.
"What about you?" Vlad asked.
"Don't worry about me." Candy said. "You should go or you'll be late." He said before heading into the bathroom.
"That's right, Candy can't always be there for me. Get it together." Vlad slapped himself back to reality.
"To the classroom." Vlad exited the room.
He took the same path to the basketball court as they did the last time. He sighted a familiar face as he looked around. He gave a mischievous smile before running in that direction.
"Hey, Kevin!" He called out. Kevin turned to face Vlad who was now behind him.
"What do you wan-" he paused when his eyes met Vlad, eyeing him from head to toe.
"What are you wearing?" Kevin said. Vlad smiled at Kevin's reaction.
"I'm lost, can we head to class together?" Vlad said. "No." Kevin replied instantly, walking away.
"Stop following me." Kevin said, looking at Vlad who was right behind him. "I'm not following you, we are simply just going in the same direction." Vlad said, making Kevin sigh in frustration.
"How are you doing this fine morning?" Vlad asked, trying to start up a conversation. "Well I was having a pleasant morning until a spider started pestering me."
"Sounds tough." Vlad replied. Kevin didn't bother replying to Vlad anymore. The classroom building soon came into view. It was a three story building with a garden right in front.
"Wow. These flowers are so pretty." Vlad said, about to touch it. "They're poisonous but feel free to touch." Kevin said, going straight into the building. Vlad quickly takes back his hand. "That startled me. I almost died the second time." Vlad said, placing his hands on his chest.
"Hey wait up." He said running after Kevin.
