Micheal started to smash the Makisis's head before it could fully regenerate, continuing to strike with anger. Blood flowed freely from the body and splattered all over his face.
[You have defeated a Grade 6 Makisis]
[2 Rampage points and 90 Exp rewarded]
Even after seeing the system notification, Micheal continued to smash the body until he grew tired.
He stopped and stared into the sky, his body drenched in his blood and the Makisis's blood. He remembered that the others were still battling beasts, so Micheal ran to them.
A few minutes later, Micheal arrived at the scene where the four of them were still fighting an endless swarm of beasts. He noticed that one of the beasts was just standing in one place, not attacking. "That's surely the beast summoning them," Micheal thought as he created a blood dagger. [-1 HP] He felt weak the moment he created the dagger; his legs were going numb, as if they were about to give out.
He checked his health stats.
[Health: 8/20]
[Would you like to heal?]
[Cost: 1 Rampage point]
Micheal decided to heal before attacking the beast. He healed himself and used his last Rampage point to increase his speed.
Micheal dashed toward the beast, cutting off its head in an instant before it could react, killing it with one blow. Suddenly, all the beasts began to die. The four of them were exhausted; the battle had been going on for an hour.
[You have defeated a Grade 3 beast, Sumorni]
[30 Exp rewarded]
[165/200 Exp]
Blake noticed Micheal approaching and they went to meet him, asking if he was okay. Micheal replied, "Yeah, We should find a way to get out of here; it's too dangerous."
"Guys, the Makisis that Micheal defeated didn't look like the one shown to us back in class," Lisa said. They all looked at each other and realized that Kaylee was right; the Makisis was totally different from the one presented to them in class.
"Let's continue to move so we can find a way out of here," Kaylee suggested. Micheal realized that he didn't know when they would all escape, so he had to conserve as much HP as possible.
They ran down the streets, unsure of where they were headed. All they could do was run. They didn't know if more Makisis were on the planet, and it would be best to stay away from them since Micheal had killed the first one by luck; the next one might be stronger and more deadly.
They spotted a building that was less damaged than the rest, and they decided to go inside. The interior was spacious. Kaylee spotted a stairway and led the others to it. They quickly ran up the stairs, reaching the third floor.
The system screen popped up.
[Multiple Grade 2 beasts have been detected]
[Defeat the Grade 2 beasts]
[Reward 100 Exp]
Micheal warned the others not to step into the room. Suddenly, spikes flew out from within, crashing into the wall.
Micheal leaped into the room, forming a blood hammer. He managed to smash three of the beasts' heads. Lisa stepped in, firing arrows at the beasts. Together, they killed ten beasts, blood splattering all over the room.
Just then, more beasts began to approach from down the stairway, throwing spikes at them. It was the same wolf-like beast they had encountered in their first team match.
"I thought the teacher said there were no beasts on this planet, but this planet is actually beast-friendly. These things are everywhere," Blake said as they ran up the stairway.
They raced to the top of the building, only to find it was a dead end, with the beasts right behind them. Micheal lunged toward them with the blood hammer, followed by Blake, who sliced the beasts in two.
Blood was now everywhere, flowing across the ground. Notifications started popping up.
[You have defeated the Grade 2 beasts]
[100 Exp rewarded]
[265/200 Exp]
[Would you like to upgrade to level 3?]
[You have attained the required Exp]
[Accept/Decline]
Micheal ignored the system suggestion because the current situation wasn't suitable for leveling up, which would mean passing out. Now was not the time.
They continued running until they found a spot that was somewhat safe. The five of them sat down, exhausted from all the running and fighting.
Meanwhile, at the school, chaos erupted among the staff. The micro camera had seen the five of them entering the portal. Mark, the school's second-in-command of the army, was running down the hallway holding a tablet.
He approached a metal door marked "Council of Academy" and barged in without knocking. Six people were seated across the
