Melanie walked through the school gates, her backpack slung over her shoulder and her mind focused on the day ahead. She had finally mastered the threads of time, and her tapestry was nearing completion. But as she walked into her first class, she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease.
Lara, her nemesis since freshman year, was sitting in the back row, smirking at her. Melanie tried to ignore her, but she could feel Lara's eyes on her, taunting her.
As the teacher began to lecture, Melanie's mind wandered back to her tapestry. She was so close to finishing it, but she needed to focus on her schoolwork too. Suddenly, she felt a strange sensation in her fingers, like they were tingling with energy.
