Hildebrant mind began to wander, and his surroundings began to change.
Even his hand griping Icarus's crimson skin began to weaken as everything around him transformed and Icarus's skin changed and now looked like he remembered him first time he came.
His human face which was dressed in olive skin and with black hair looked at him with furry and helplessness. There was light that wanted to escape from his cracked face, but it held itself back.
Then the world changed again and while trying to find out what was true and what was a lie world flickered intervening between a beautiful world full of normalcy and the crimson room filled with nothing but his own blood.
Without air, Hildebrant felt that with each second life slowly drifted out of his body but even then, his vision did not stop morphing and at one time he returned to time when he was a kid.
He sat behind the table, his hands clasped together, and his mother and father sat opposite to him on each of his sides. Then with closed eyes and a feverish voice, his parents began to pray, and he followed their words.
"Mighty sun, progenitor of light"
"Protector of weak and grand conductor of fate"
"Give us your blessing and fill our bodies with strength"
Finishing their prayer his father opened his eyes, but his face no longer was whole.
It has cracks all over it, madness seeping out of them in the form of light, blood, and red smoke. His eyes were absent of mercy and their gaze made Hildebrant shiver.
Falling from the chair Hildebrant backed away while the chair his mother sat in disappeared even with her and his father stood up. Icarus with his human face walked up to him, slowly and surely while Hildebrant turned around and ran.
Opening the door to the hall he dashed up on stairs and then opened closer doors to the washroom and closed them. He leaned on them with all his might, but the step did not stop echoing.
With him listening he knew when his father walked on straight and when he finally stopped before the doors. Knock after knock fell on the doors but Hildebrant with raged breath held them until blood began to pour down his finger.
"How long are you going to run away?"
His father asked and blood pushed itself inside through gaps under the doors. Hildebrant took a step back, but he was unable to escape the gaze that came from the blood and eyes that formed after it pushed itself inside.
"Come out."
A voice came from blood and then repeated itself.
"Come out."
"Come out!"
"COME OUT!"
His head ached as if it was going to explode and then with fury, he manifested an ember of flames and threw it onto the blood and then on the door. Waving with ember all around him he smashed and melted anything he could find until the flames spread and began to burn the entire place down.
When the doors turned into dust his father stood still outside with a smile on his face and then like his mother turned into dust and with him gone entire dream collapsed.
Waking up Hildebrant found out his heart was no longer beating and the only thing keeping him alive was the flames that coursed through his heart and body and kept it warm.
It was a second maybe even less from the moment his heart stopped but Icarus already let go of his neck and trembled not far from him with hands on his head while muttering in a maddering voice.
"What did I do? What did I do? What did I do? Why did I do it? Am I crazy? No! You are crazy! I am Icarus I am not crazy."
Pure madness flowed through his body morphing his flesh and blood that fell from his body into boiling blood.
Hildebrant taking his first breath made his heart move again and with the strength of his flames, he pushed himself up and then forcefully smiled.
All tiredness disappeared when a smile formed on his lips and familiar strength filled his being. His heart beat faster with each second and without many words, he made his way to Icarus.
Without his knowledge, Icarus still kept muttering talking about how he didn't want to and that he was a terrible person but when Hildebrant finally stood behind him his voice came to a halt.
"You are alive?"
There was a surprise in Icarus's voice, but Hildebrant was too tired to think, too numb to feel, and just hugged him from behind.
"Yes, I am."
He said with a smile on his face while feeling Icarus's body slipping through his fingers.
Icarus stood frozen in place, but Hildebrant could feel crimson light in his center revealing itself more the more blood fell from Icarus's body. Cage was going undone giving birth to something more harrowing and dangerous.
"That good, that amazing, now we can try again and this time we can finally become one."
Taking one of his hands Icarus made it touch his cracked face.
"Then we can be finally together like when you were a kid."
Before he could continue saying anything more Hildebrant grasped Icarus's face full of cracks and flames exploded from within his palm right into Icarus's face.
The flood of intense head kept pushing itself into Icarus's body making him stop in his tracks and then tremble and punch Hildebrant into his belly as yellow flames began to burn crimson light and his blood refining it and growing bigger within his body, continuously and without stopping.
Hildebrant flew to the wall and crashed into it and then slid down but Icarus did not even look at him as a mighty crimson monster roared to the ceiling of a bloody room while yellow flames escaped from a crack on its face.
While scratching its neck Icarus fell on his knees and then with the last of vail of suffering it gazed at Hildebrant.
"I…."
His voice began to tremble with anger but then it calmed down as his faceless face melted and revealed a crimson exterior formed with nothing other than blood and flesh.
"…am proud of you."
He said and then Icarus, a crimson monster that terrorized him from the first day he came into the sanctuary turned into a pool of blood and dust disappearing into boiling blood.
Hildebrant gazed at the scene and then began to laugh. His smile kept widening and power that flooded his body and mind, numbed pain that spread through his body and his very soul.
