The world became silent and all Hildebrant perceived was dark space he floated in until his eyelids trembled, and his eyes finally opened.
His entire body was wet and wounds that before tortured his mind and soul were all bandaged by white cloth, from with the smell of strong alcohol made his face disorder in a twist until doors from the room opened and the young boy entered inside with a plate full of food.
"You are finally awake."
David said and slowly put the trail on the table beside the bed.
Blinking Hildebrant slowly watched him sit on a chair next to the bed and then he looked on the other side of the room where the painting old man holding the rose hung from the wall and then back on the David.
"Where…I am?"
His body trembled when he tried to remember what happened to him and his limbs refused to move more the five centimetres above the sheets that cowered him, but he still pushed them up and used them to sit.
"Please don't strain your body like that you will hurt yourself."
Would he?
Feeling searing pain and hearing creaking of his bones he nodded and continued to sit with raged breath.
"So where am I?"
David smiled soberly and then put a glass of water he wanted to give him down on the table.
"You are in the sanctuary at the…"
"…. edge of world. I know that I mean where I am right now?"
Stopping David exhaled, and his face showed a difficult expression.
"In the great hall of exorcist."
He didn't say more and stayed silently looking at the ground without continuing.
"I see…..."
Hildebrant hid his confusion and listening to his trembling body and his screaming instinct he collapsed on the bed and submerged himself into the soft embrace of wool and warmth.
He was too tired to move or think but soon his eyes shot open again.
"Where is the girl that came with me?"
David looked at the ground and said nothing.
Hildebrant body began to tremble when he observed the boy's expression, and his insides began to twist while flames in his body began to pass through his veins and fill him with strength but before he could jump out of bed David sighed.
"I don't know. When I came to Osmian he was missing eye and cursing me with all his might. All I found out from him was that after she woke up first thing, she did was plunge her finger into him, took his eye, and then disappear into the crowd of people. "
Flames raging in him calmed down and blood that came out from his opened wounds began to soak bandages on his body in red.
"That's normal I…. think?"
Why did she do it?
Why did she leave him?
They might not be together for a long time but… why did she was so important to him?
Remembering the flickering and broken memory of the crimson room and monster that took care of him, his entire body trembled with fear and denial.
Did she leave something in him, similar to that monster?
"Are you fine?"
Lifting his gaze, he noticed David looking at him with concern.
All he could do was do what he always did and smile kindly even when his lips trembled, and intense fear and pain coursed through his heart.
It was a poison that he ingested from a young age.
"Yes, why would I not be?"
He said and after weeks of leaving his home tears finally poured out of his eyes.
