Chapter 232 - 232. Win and Evolution

"Now let's start the official Gym Battle between Gym Leader Brawly of the Dewford Town Gym and the challenger, Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town. The number of Pokémon used by both Trainers are two!"

According to the challenge rules of the Gym, Brawly will go first and send out his Pokémon, "Machop, come on out!"

The Machop family can be said to be the best representative of the Fighting-types. Chuck's Trump Card against Ash was a Machoke. But compared to the muscular and stronger Machoke, Machop in its initial evolved form is much shorter and less masculine.

"It's up to you, Taillow!" Ash decided go and choose his Taillow and Treecko to challenge the Gym.

As using his Pikachu and Dratini will be too much and his Ralts is not strong enough to battle.

Facing the Flying-type Taillow, Brawly did not dare to look down on it. Instead, he was full of fighting spirit, "Shall we use if your Taillow can really deal with a Fighting-type Pokémon?"

"Well there many things to a battle, we may not necessarily win, but at least we will have the better favorable conditions!" Ash said with a confident smile. When it comes to reverse attribute battles, he has much more experience than these Gym Leaders, and not to mention when he had the type advantage.

"Taillow, let's begin with a Quick Attack!"

Ash took the lead in launching a quick first attack. Taillow's scissor-shaped tail dragged the wind with two bright sparks, and rushed in front of the Machop in the blink of an eye.

Taillow's attack successfully hit, but Machop only fell backwards and rolled out twice on the ground to resolve most of the damages from Quick Attack. Such an attack would be very superficial and do very little damage to the Fighting-type Machop.

Ash furrowed his brows, "So this is your fighting style?"

Taillow returned to Ash's side of the field and regained his composure. At that moment, he didn't feel like it had caused any damages at all.

"Big Bro Brock, what are they talking about?" The whole scene just passed by in a flash. Max rubbed his eyes, but he only saw Taillow knocking Machop away. But when Ash said this, it was obvious that the scene just now was very different than what he was thinking of.

This is a the difference between a Trainer and a spectator.

"I think I understand what just happened just now, the hit was a success but it was resolved by Machop quickly because of that roll it did. It minimized its damage right after he was hit by Taillow; now how to do some effective damage to Machop is probably the biggest problem that Ash will face next!" Brock pondered for a few seconds, and then he tried his best to come up with a good enough sounding strategy for them.

"How about it, Ash, how are you going to deal with this?" This is the problem that Brawly, as the Gym Leader, sets for the challenger.

However, Ash smiled, "What's so difficult about this? Lets see how many times you avoid my attacks!"

"Taillow, let's go!"

With Ash's fighting spirit, Taillow flew in front of Machop again, but Machop rolled to the side and dodged the attack again with quick succession.

However, Taillow accelerated again at that moment, and his new Flying-type skill Aerial Ace was not just as easy to resolve. Before Machop could stand firm, he was immediately knocked away.

This move definitely made Machop lose most of his health.

"Machop loses the ability to fight, meaning Taillow wins this round!" The referee seemed stunned for a second before announcing Taillow's victory.

Perhaps it was because he had never seen someone who could defeat Brawlys Machop so quickly.

"Thank you for your hard work, Machop!" There was no surprise on Brawlys stern face. From Ash's performance at sea yesterday, he knew that Ash was by no means an ordinary person.

"Ash, you are indeed very strong. I am very happy to be able to battle with you today. The more powerful you are, the more worthy you are worthy for me to beat in this battle!"

Ash could feel Brawlys fighting spirit burning from where he was standing.

Not only that, he hasn't encountered such a strong opponent since the beginning of this season.

"Come out, Makuhita my partner!"

Brawlys second Pokémon was already very clear fo anyone's view. It was the same Makuhita who was surfing along with Brawly and Ash yesterday.

After coming out, he quickly raised his hand to say his hello to Ash. After all, Ash helped him yesterday by not falling back in the water.

(What a good boy.)

"Come back, Taillow. You did well." Ash decided to take his Taillow back to rest, "Stand by for battle, Treecko!"

The battle between the two has been determined since they met first yesterday.

"Treecko, Mega Drain!"

First, he decided to absorb a wave of physical strength first, the green light ball jumped out of Makuhita's body and was being absorbed into Treecko's body, but Makuhita didn't seem to care at all about this little physical strength.

But if Ash relies on this move to start a battel of guerrilla tactics with Brawlys Makuhita, the much more faster and agile Treecko can continue to absorb the physical strength from Makuhita. The longer they delay this, the more disadvantageous it will be to Brawly and his Makuhita.

"Makuhita, let's use your Arm Thrust!"

Now Brawly must take the initiative to attack, as he can no longer neutralize Ash's attack slowly.

His Makuhita was indeed trained very well, and he was quickly able to roll in front of Treecko and slapped him towards Treecko.

"Use your Pound continuously!"

Faced with this powerful palm, Ash chose to let Treecko catch it head-on after some thinking. Treecko didn't hesitate at all after hearing the orders of Ash, turning around fiercely, Treeckos tail met Makuhita's palm again and again.

However, Makuhita also used a second and third palm. This is a attack that can go on for a few rounds.

This attack is also one of the best moves of Ash's Heracross, as he is powerful close range physical attacker.

Seeing another atatck coming, Treecko landed on one foot, kicked lightly with the other foot, turned around and slapped him with his tail again.

"Did yesterday's surf really have such a big effect on him?" Brawlys eyes suddenly lit up when he saw Treecko's movements. This kind of control over the waist and legs was really excellent and largely resembles that of some pro surfers like him.

However, Treecko still couldn't hold on. This time, Makuhita was very lucky. He used the Arm Thrust skill in one go that could launch continuously for 2 to 5 palms in a row.

Often, one more palm can determine the outcome, but this time Makuhita launched all of the five palms, which is the most, and the last palm pushed the Treecko away.

"Mega Drain!"

Ash's order was given in an instant, and Treecko opened his eyes suddenly. A green light tolled off from Makuhita's body and into Treeckos body again. When it was finally absorbed, he had recovered from the damage and landed smoothly again.

Brawly gritted his teeth, "What an annoying trick!"

Makuhita can't keep up with Treecko's high speed, so it's hard to deal with his Mega Drain!

If they can't cause a lot of damage at once, it will be really difficult to defeat Ash and his Treecko.

"In this case..."

Just as Bralwy was about to launch the next round of attacks, Makuhita's body suddenly shone with light!

Max's eyes lit up, "Is this evolution? It's so beautiful, I finally saw a real life evolution!" The moment when a Pokémon evolves, it is always beautiful no matter how many times a person watches it.

Then Ash also smiled, and saw his Treecko slowly standing up and starting to glow! His seventh Royal Starter Pokémon was finally going to evolve at this time!

"Two Pokémon evolving at the same time!" May looked at this scene in shock. Such a scene was definitely really rare, even if she never thought much of it.

When the light fell, Makuhita evolved into a real sumo Pokémon, Hariyama, and those big palms of his definitely made moves like Arm Thrust more powerful.

And Ash's Treecko also evolved into Grovyle, which is much more cooler in appearance than it is cute. After Ash's careful training and Brock's high quality foods, its height reached 1.1 meters, and it also learned a new skill, which is its signature attack, Leaf Blade!

Grovyle: 210/220

"Very well, Grovyle, let's try our new Leaf Blade!"

The three small dark green leaves on his wrist merged into one larger and sharper one, his suddenly stretched out and turned into a Leaf Blade.

Grass-type energy shined on his blade, and he slashed towards the newly evolved Hariyama!

"Hariyama, use Vital Throw!" Even Brawly didn't dare to let his very defensive Hariyama directly get hit by this Leaf Blade. He clearly felt the light shining on it, the light of fighting for Ash's victory!

His Hariyama took a step back and performed the same surf action as he once did as a Makuhita. It regarded the blade as a huge wave and shook its body to avoid it.

Then he swung out his palm and used Grovyle's power to throw him behind him!

"What a beautiful dodge." Ash's eyes also lit up, he had to teach this to some of his Pokémon's when he gets the chance. However, now was not the time to admire the opponent like this, but the time to attack, "Come on, Grovyle! Lets go again!"

The order was given again. Grovyle opened his eyes suddenly, stepped forward again, and stretched the Leaf Blade in his other hand. At this moment, his fighting spirit had reached its limit. It bent its body, with a pair of Leaf Blades overlapped behind it, shining with a fierce light!

It slashed hard on the Hariyama's back. Even the heavy Hariyama couldn't withstand such a slash. It left two cross scars on its back and was knocked away.

Although these scars look scary, they will heal in no time as they were only "false" scars.

"Hariyama loses its ability to fight, meaning Grovyle wins thsi battle! Therefore, the winner of this battle is the challenger Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!"
