Chapter 222 - 222. Sweep

After bidding farewell to Gary and leaving the Pokémon Professor's classroom, the Principal led the group again and opened another door for them.

The Trainers here are exercising with their Pokémon and developing a tacit understanding. "This is the class for the Pokémon Contest!"

"Pokémon Contest!" May's eyes were filled with stars when she heard this. She was very interested in this and wanted to try this path with her Pokémon's.

But she didn't know how to do it, and Ash also couldn't teach her this because he never tried to learn or met anyone who was part of this, so of course she was excited when she heard that she could learn from this class.

"Typhlosion, use your Flamethrower attack!"

"Feraligatr, Hydro Pump attack!"

In another classroom, even before opening the door, they could feel that the battle is in full swing inside!

This kind of voice is what Ash is most familiar with and the ones he likes the most.

"This is a class that is specialized for Trainers that want to become better at Pokémon Battles!"

Seeing that all the students in this class are pretty decent at best, Ash immediately asked, "Mr. Principal, can you allow me to have some battles with the students here? I want to give some of my Pokémon's more opportunities to exercise and get better in tactics with me for our future together!"

In fact, most of it is just to earn some of his hard Exchange Points. He needed them badly.

The Principal readily agreed to Ash's wish, "We would love to welcome the Silver Conference Champion who is willing to do coaching!"

But before that, he still had to take Max to Roxanne's Beginners Class. When they opened the door, they heard a somewhat familiar voice, "This is the whole thing. Do you understand that there are different types of Pokémon?"

"Yes..." All the children said in unison.

"Professor Oak!" Roxanne didn't expect to be able to get Professor Oak to teach the children remotely for a hour, but after all, Gary was teaching here, so they must have some sort of connection with Professor Oak, even if it's a minor one.

"Ash! Brock, and May is also here!" Professor Oak was very happy to see Ash after such a long time. After greeting the few people he keen, he looked at Max, "So you are May younger brother, Max. The one Ash talked about."

"Um...I..." Max was very nervous to talk to the famous professor. After all, this was THE Professor Oak, whom he once admired as his idle at one point in his life!

"Max, you should say hello back to him." May quickly pressed Max's head and bowed to Professor Oak.

"It doesn't even matter at the need of the day." Professor Oak really didn't care about such pleasantries. He looked down at Ash, "Ash, have you seen Gary yet? He is also in thsi school, learning how to be a Pokémon Professor."

"Yeah, I saw him a little while ago. I just came out of his class when I saw you!" Ash said with a smile. Professor Oak should be very pleased that Gary can calm down his ego and achieve something great in the future.

"By the way, did you finish your first Gym Battle yet?"

"Not as of yet, but don't worry. I can with to try again later!" Ash still wants to get some Exchange Points now over preety much anything. If this continues, Dratini's special food will run out because he can't battle at all.

Roxanne looked at Ash and apologized to him, "Ash, I still have to teach the rest of today. Can our Gym Battle wait until tomorrow?"

"You two must fight hard without leaving any regrets. Who knows if you will regret it one day." Professor Oak said with a smile but he also didn't think that Ash would be defeated by Roxanne. He simply smiled and was about to hang up the video call since todays telephone live video ended just now.

Max finally summoned up the courage to say something to Professor Oak, "Professor Oak!"

"I have read all the books written by you and your Lab, and I have also listened to all the Pokémon Lectures on that radio of yours, so... I respect you very much, Professor Oak!"

Hearing this, Professor Oak smiled very kindly, "This is my honor, thank you for your support, Max!"

With that he hung up the phone.

Looking at the black screen, Max was disappointed for a moment, but Ash smiled and put his hand on his head.

"Big Bro?"

Max, who had just been cured by Ash's head patting, suddenly felt a pain in his head again. Ash gripped him in his head again, which made him burst into tears.

"Hey, if you have ever read Professor Oak's books, then you can answer this question!" The one who spoke was the naughty kid who had brought his Magby with him.

Max, who had no time to cover his head, turned his head to him.

"What is the most effective trick against Flying-type Pokémon's?" This is indeed an entry-level question.

Of course, such a problem is not a problem for Max who memorized pretty much everything in the books, "That is very simple question, an Electric-type attack like Thunderbolt would easily do the trick!"

For entry-level children, knowing this is enough, for then. When the past Ash first went out, he was not even familiar with the Type Table and other basic knowledge.

In fact, for the Flying-type, the most effective ones are not only the Electric-type, but also the Rock-type and Ice-type.

Seeing that Max easily got the answer right to his question, the boy stood up and asked, "What is the most effective trick for Pokémon that digs holes and hides beneath the ground?"

The scope of this problem had narrowed a lot, but Max still got the answer down very well, "That is also very simple question, just use a move like Earthquake or Magnitude to deal with them."

That being said, one can't win on the battlefield just by relying on their theory and boom knowledge.

Seeing that Max answered correctly again it his question, the kid wanted to ask another new question, but was loudly interrupted by Roxanne, "Okay, Tommy, you two can stop here for now!"

Tommy was still not convinced by Max, "But the two of us haven't decided on who the winner is yet!"

"Tommy, we are learning here not just for winning or losing! Learning and growing together with friends is the purpose of Pokémon Trainer School. I have always taught you guys this."

Max was allowed to observe here for now with Roxanne being in charge of him here, and May went to the class that taught the students about Pokémon Contest that she just saw with the rest not long ago.

Ash finally had the opportunity to come to the real Pokémon Trainer's class under the leadership of the Principal, and it was still just as very lively here as they saw before.

"Everyone, I am honored to introduce you guys to the Silver Conference Champion and the future Elite 4 member, Ash. He has come to our school today for something. You all have the opportunity to challenge him, whether it is one-on-one or doubles, but you must make it a memorable battle!"

"Hello everyone, I am Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town, please to meet you!"

Hearing that he was the Champion of the Silver Conference and a future Elite 4 member, the students here were excited to be able to battle against him. Everyone had watched the live video of the Silver Conference as it was one of the largest events in the Pokémon world, so they quickly recognized Ash even before the Principal introduced him.

His strength was very obvious to all by his feats.

Soon the first boy came forward to challenge Ash.

"Hello, Ash, my name is Koichi, and I want to challenge you to an one-on-one!" They use Pokémon belonging to the school. The Pokémon here are all well trained and will obey the orders of their temporary Trainer.

The Principal even said that more than three quarters of their funds go to train these Pokémon's.

"Hello, Koichi, let's start out battle!" Ash said and then threw out one of his Poké Ball, "Dratini, stand by for battle!"

The level of Pokémon here was not really that low, so it is safest to use his Dratini to avoid facing any loses.

Sure enough, Ash was right. The Koichi in front of him sent a Typhlosion. If he had sent out his Treecko, he would most likely not even deal some small damage to it.

"Typhlosion, Flamethrower!" Koichi on the other side launched his attack first.

But as soon as the pillar of fire was sent out, Typhlosion and Koichi found that there was no target in front of them. Dratini seemed to teleport out and disappeared in front of them like it wasn't ever there to begin with.

Then Koichi was suddenly shocked by what he saw next. He could see Dratini's blurry figure appearing above Typhlosion's head. "The Dragon Tail hit Typhlosion's head and knocked it to the ground!"

He watched helplessly as Ash and his Dratini instantly did such a major blow to Typhlosion with just one single move.

The Champion's power was truly something that they can't ever reach!
