Chapter 4 - Chapter 4. My Future Wife Jocelin Thambrin

"Jeremy, should we be like this? Can't we..." Jocelin's words were interrupted once again.

"No, we can't!" Jeremiah replied firmly.

"I will never forget what you've done to me, let alone forgive me. So, if you're smart, it's better for you to leave my presence," Jeremiah spoke again.

Jeremiah took a step forward and left Jocelin alone in the elevator. He entered his car and without delay, the car drove off with his driver.

"Where do you want to go for dinner?" Hardy asked.

"I don't have an appetite anymore," Jeremiah replied, sighing heavily as he loosened his tie.

"Let's just go to the hotel; I want to rest," Jeremiah said, closing his eyes.

Five hours later, Hardy was visibly annoyed as it was already 10:00 PM, yet he had to work late to accompany Jeremiah, who had chosen to rest for quite a long time during the day.

"It's late, have you taken your medicine?" Hardy asked.

"Just say you want to go home," Jeremiah replied, looking at his large computer screen displaying data on collaborations with several other companies.

"I'm someone who loves working; how could I possibly leave you working alone?" Hardy responded.

"By the way, this is the summary of all data and outcomes from the collaboration with IT Solution Win Pro," Hardy continued.

Jeremiah only glanced briefly before getting up to leave.

"From the Executive Directors and others, they highly recommend continuing this project," Hardy said, still following Jeremiah's departure.

"Who are they? On what basis do they recommend it?" Jeremiah replied.

"We're not just looking at the results; we also consider the quality of the responsibility holder. Have they ever looked into the background of the responsible party? Do they know what kind of person Jocelin Thambrin is?" Jeremiah explained.

"Well, you're quite professional. Alright, I'll convey it to the Executive Directors," Hardy replied, wanting to leave but hesitated.

"No need, for now, you postpone the collaboration between Changipore Airlines and IT Solution Win Pro until I come up with a new idea," Jeremiah said, opening his iPad.

"Alright, oh by the way, I was just informed that the main boss has arranged a meeting for you with someone tomorrow," Hardy exclaimed, sitting across from Jeremiah.

"Who? I don't have any friends in Singapore," Jeremiah replied, puzzled.

"Well, you don't have friends now, but after lunch, you'll have a friend here," Hardy replied.

"Ugh, can't I skip the meeting tomorrow?" Jeremiah said lazily.

"You can, of course. But I won't be responsible for the next meeting because you didn't show up for the previous one. You're the one who knows the main boss the best," Hardy explained casually.

"Among all the problems in the company, the main boss is even more worried about your personal life. You've never dated since college; no wonder the main boss is worried," Hardy continued.

"Quiet, just go there," Jeremiah said curtly, returning his attention to the iPad in front of him.

"Alright then, I'm going home," Hardy said as he got up to leave.

"I'll include your overtime pay for this month," Jeremiah added before Hardy disappeared from his sight, hearing Hardy's joyful shout.

"You're indeed the best boss, I love you!" Hardy shouted before leaving in excitement.

"He's more worried about others' affairs; still dealing with other people's problems," Jeremiah muttered.

After Hardy left, Jeremiah glanced at the data Hardy provided about the collaboration with IT Solution Win Pro. The next moment, Jeremiah immediately closed and pushed aside the data from his view.

The next day,

Jocelin returned to the Changipore Airlines office area. She stared at the building for a long time, making sure of herself.

"I have to meet him. I'm doing all this for Win Pro; I don't care how thick-skinned you are in front of him," Jocelin muttered to herself.

Jocelin convinced herself to enter and not long after,

"I'm sorry, you can't enter," the guard there said.

"I just want to meet Mr. Jere for a moment; I met him yesterday," Jocelin replied.

"I'm sorry, but Mr. Jeremiah asked me to forbid you from meeting him. Please understand and leave this place immediately," the guard said.

Jocelin thought again that even if she fought, the result would still be futile. Jocelin stepped out and tried to figure out how to still enter the building and meet Jeremy. A few minutes later, Jocelin saw an Alphard car entering the Changipore Airlines office, suspecting that Jeremiah had just arrived and headed to the parking lot.

On the other hand, Jeremiah had just arrived at the office, and there was already so much work he had to do today. Shortly after getting out of the car and heading to his office, suddenly from behind, Jocelin approached him, out of breath.

"Mr. Jere, please take a look at this project for a moment..." Jocelin spoke, but was interrupted by a female secretary who was discussing work matters with Jeremiah.

"I'm sorry, but you're not allowed here," the secretary said, continuing to block Jocelin.

"You'll understand after seeing this data ... oh my, just wait a moment, I need to talk to him. Wait...Mr. Jere..." Jocelin yelled, only to be restrained again and saw Jeremiah leave, seemingly indifferent to her.

Jeremiah didn't care and kept walking away from Jocelin's screams. He stared sharply at Jocelin before the elevator door closed and took him to his office.

"Didn't you see the results of that data last night?" Hardy asked.

"I don't have to read it now because the project will be postponed for now," Jeremiah explained.

"Alright, I'll try to explain it to Ms. Jocelin," Hardy said.

"No need, she already knows, so let her be stubborn," Jeremiah replied, continuing to step out of the elevator towards his office.

3 hours later,

Jeremiah had lost count of how many times he had looked at his watch; it felt like time had stopped. It had been an hour and a half since the woman in front of Jeremiah now kept rambling about irrelevant things.

"The bag I'm using right now is one of only 3 in the world, and I'm one of them. If I'm not mistaken, I bought it at the Milan exhibition..." the woman said without pause.

Jeremiah just looked outside without listening to the woman's words.

"The main boss mentioned that her father is an important associate, so make sure to leave after you both finish lunch," a message came in from Hardy to Jeremiah's phone.

Jeremiah gave an irritated expression when he read the message, coupled with the pointless conversation that made him feel dizzy.

Meanwhile, Jocelin continued to listen and watch Jeremiah, laughing as if she found entertainment in seeing Jeremiah uncomfortable.

"Let's see how long he can endure," Jocelin thought mockingly.

"For me, this bag, clothes, and jewelry are my life goals..." the woman rambled on without stopping.

Jocelin immediately stood up and decided to take action to help Jeremiah get out of that hell for her.

"Honey, why did it take you so long? You said you were just having lunch? It's already late afternoon

..." Jocelin approached Jeremiah and sat down so close to him as if they were a couple.

Jeremiah, who was drinking, accidentally spilled some water because he was surprised by Jocelin's sudden presence.

"Oh my, I startled you, I'm sorry...sorry," Jocelin said, realizing the spilled water.

Jocelin quickly wiped the water from Jeremiah's lips gently and attentively.

"Hey, who are you? Why are you so rude to just come here like that?" the woman said angrily.

"Who am I? Why don't you ask him directly?" Jocelin replied, pretending to be possessive.

Jocelin leaned closer to Jeremiah to whisper something.

"I'll help you get out of this trouble, but give me just ten minutes of your time," Jocelin said.

Jeremiah, hearing that, gave a challenging look.

"You're so sure, what if I don't want to?" Jeremiah said.

"If you don't believe me, fine. That woman is very interested in you, so she doesn't want your lunchtime to end quickly. So you won't be able to get away just relying on your abilities alone. Okay? Ten minutes," Jocelin explained with a victorious smile.

"Hey, can you back off? You're not polite at all coming in like that," the woman said angrily.

"My ten minutes are precious, you can't get them that easily," Jeremiah said.

"Promise, just ten minutes," Jocelin insisted.

Jeremiah stood up and straightened his clothes before pulling Jocelin into his embrace.

"I forgot to introduce her to you; she's my fiancée, Jocelin Thambrin," Jeremiah announced.
