Chapter 4 - Chapter 4:

I read the Oracle book my mother gave me. I started reading it because I wanted to find a spell that could be translated into different languages to understand. I spent less time training with Hwa and the elder and more time with the old man, who was a warrior named Hauken. I still obviously work with Mr. Earnbile, but I don't even consider that working, as I always stay by Miedzy Cave.

And like I said, I would always find something new, like today, I found a strange piece of rock with caverns of a language that I didn't understand. Mr. Earnbile believes it could be a relic from ancient times, maybe connected to the Miedzy cave.

As I was walking down the street, I accidentally bumped into a huge man. My eyes widened in horror and I began to shiver. Before I could say anything, I quickly started to bow and apologize. "I'm sorry, sir. I didn't see..." Before I could finish apologizing, I felt something impact my face – it was the man's fist, causing me to go flying several feet.

Holding my now bloody nose, I tried to get up to escape my attacker. He quickly slammed his foot on my back, and then just stared at me with disgust before delivering another blow. "Next time, watch where you're going, outsider. The only reason we're letting you stay is because of your mom's amazing fucking body, and her tight snatch," said the man before kicking me again.

Everyone who watched had different opinions about this altercation. The majority of the people grinned at my misfortune; they were like a pack of wolves, feeding and enjoying my suffering. A few just put their heads down in shame, silently praying for my forgiveness.

As I got up, I started dusting myself off and wiped the blood off my nose, but the bleeding wouldn't stop. A familiar face, Avyaan, the local vendor and hunter responsible for selling meat in the village, offered me a rag.

Frowing; Avyaan looked at me with sorrow. " Are you ok? Alonne, I'm sorry that Visva treated you this way, said Avyaan while greeting his teeth when saying that's man's name. Still spoken up, I gave Avyaan a reassuring smile. "I'm fine Avyann, really I am!" I tried to say with enthusiasm, but my body was saying otherwise. Fear is what, I was feeling and it wouldn't be my last time feeling this.

Visva was the second strongest in the village, but he wasn't considered a prodigy by any means. However, due to his ability to command others, he held more influence in the village, sometimes even more than the elders. As they mentioned, although I didn't understand the significance then, I now realize that my mom was his favorite target. The man could hold his own in brawls, but nothing more. He was disgusting and fat-looking, and he had shaggy blond hair.

"Are you sure you ok Alonne if you need I-, but before Avyann could continue to speak I cut him off.

"Why does everyone hate me? Did I do something wrong? Is being different such a crime," I whispered to myself.

"Things will get better," Avyann said before touching my shoulders. I pushed him away and glared at him.

He didn't do anything; he just watched, watched me getting beaten, a child. Those were the thoughts that were racing through my head at the time. But I'm older now, and I understand. Some people might call him a coward, and I would agree. But he wasn't afraid of fighting, but Shaun by the rest of the village.

Visva's influence in the village was too strong, and at that time, I was too young to comprehend Avyaan's situation. Morally, what he did was wrong, but what would I have done in his shoes? It's easy to say I would do something about it.

This was all he had. He was a slave to the kingdom, and his clan was the only family that cared about him. I was an outsider, that was not bound by slavery. Me and my mother saw someone that was mooching on the poor.

I wiped my bloody nose and started walking home. Today, the brothel was closed, so that meant my mother had the day off. I was still furious but decided to study more about translation magic under the category known as communication. Translation magic was a beginner-type magic that all casters could learn.

So today I decided to just study magic.

Laying in an old cottage, I begin to read my day away. And I found myself in a pickle, how do I use magic?

So, during my research, I discovered some basic techniques to unlock my Mana. Mana is a spiritual energy that thrives on focus, discipline, intelligence, imagination, endurance, and one's soul. Maogai, also known as magicians and spell weavers, have something similar to nodes, known as magic circuits. These circuits determine a Maogai's studies of Magic, Magic affinity, and their magic output

Circuits are essential for a Maogai to be successful. Everyone possesses a certain number of circuits. Some are born with fewer high-quality circuits, while others are born with a larger quantity of circuits but of low quality. Some are fortunate enough to have both.

Next, glyphs are primarily possessed by wealthy or royal Maogai. Glyphs contain the code for every generation of Maogai magic, programmed in the Maogai's DNA if they come from Maogai lineages.

These allow the user, the user to be able to wield their forefather's powers.
