He didn't know what this lady's deal was but she made Lake very anxious, and he didn't like that.
Matilda smugly gestured for the men to come closer, "Merely doing my duties, it's a safety thing, you know." She went on patronizingly, coming down the last step.
"This is Mafia King Davian's home, I can't just let anyone waltz in as they like."
Caspian stared at her blankly as she went on her tirade, unfazed.
Lake didn't share his confidence, however, he knew a bit of how twisted Matilda could be and how she would still try to kick Caspian out even if they admitted that Davian knew about his visit.
