"Hey," Caspian beamed at Asher when he met up with him in the hallway.
Trying to pretend that it wasn't strange for Asher to be back home so early wasn't working out for him so well.
"You didn't tell me you were coming back."
Asher didn't look troubled, disapproval the only negative emotion in his hazel-gold eyes.
"I didn't plan to. Davian called."
Caspian's eyes went wide at that, "Is it bad?"
"Hardly. Could you tell me what's going on?"
They were in the hallway, but it was empty so Caspian saw no harm in telling his mate right there.
He didn't predict that it would make Asher laugh hard enough that he struggled to breathe.
"I didn't think it was that funny," He said dryly, holding Asher close so that the Alpha could lean his weight on him.
"It's not. It sucks for… Lake?"
"Right," Caspian nodded, letting Asher know that he got the Omega's name right.
