Caspian's heart rate picked up without warning, and even as Asher pressed kisses into his hair, he hoped that the Alpha wouldn't hear it.
"We should probably not be late for dinner," He blurted out after a few more excruciating minutes of that.
At the start, he had been ready to stay curled up in Asher's arms for an eternity, and now he needed to not be alone in a room with him.
Asher didn't act like there was anything out of order and it made him all the more uneasy, finding it difficult to relax in his hold when the Alpha carried him back to their shared bedroom.
He sat on the edge of his bed with his sharp nails digging into the palm of his hands, not hard enough to hurt but enough to distract him but his bubbling anxiety.
Should he bring it up then? Asher didn't seem like he planned to, or had the Alpha actually forgotten?
Caspian ruffled his hair in frustration, he was no good at lying, even if this wasn't exactly a lie.
