Caspian would leave, and he would spend the rest of his life trying to get over him.
But instead, he was the one trying to convince the Omega to leave.
He had to pace because he was beginning to believe the hope Caspian presented with his words, and if he did that, he would become just like his father.

"Could you put your pacing on hold, so we can have lunch?" Caspian's level voice came from behind him.
"What?" Every one of Caspian's words hit him like a freight train.
"Lunch?" He repeated, "We can continue discussing afterward."
Asher resigned to it, clearly the discussion wasn't working out at the moment, maybe he could get Caspian to accept the inevitable after a meal.
