Chapter 23 - Chapter 22: Buzz the annoying Toy

Chapter 22: Buzz the annoying Toy

That night after my talk with Shikamaru, he soon left with Naruto and Tom was waving them out of the door.

I then hopped onto the couch to join Buzz who decided to restart his world since he died too many times.

"Lucas, are you finally free!" The toy asked with excitement to which I couldn't help but sigh. The past few days I had barely spent any time with him.

Steel was out doing his own thing, trying to unlock the Turbo modes and Tom was busy being an influencer.

Buzz didn't really have anything to do recently.

I tried to pet his head but he swatted my head in anger and disgust.

"What are you trying to do!"

That only made me pity him more.

Following that we both gamed together for a bit on split screen and Tom eventually decided to join us from my PC and do a live stream too.

"Why does the cat get the computer but we share a screen!" Buzz asked in anger as we all played together and Tom was already getting to iron tools.

I myself was still trying to find food, while Buzz was trying to chop down some wood.

I could see Tom from the corner of my eyes as he was trying to act sophisticated for the stream as he played.

Well he needed to retain attention somehow when he couldn't even talk.

It was halfway into the session I realized I never really asked Tom how he was buying properties in my name without my go ahead.

But he didn't want to do me any harm so I killed the animals nearby and began Buzz and my classic strat.

My objective was simple.

Buzz could not die!

When he died, he would whine for hours and make us wait until he caught up in gear with us.

So I always brought him strip mining on the first night.

I mean, how does one die strip mining…right?

"Lucas, I found a cave. OH NO THERE CREEPERS!"

"Lucas, I suddenly fell into this drop and I am at half a heart, please save me."

"Lucas, gravel is falling on me and I am suffocating."

"Lucas I mined into water and can't find the way back."

"Lucas…"

"Lucas…"

"Lucas…"

That was within 5 minutes into the game!

Now I remember why I never felt pity, this stupid sack of shit couldn't even play minecraft.

"Lucas."

"WHAT!" I snapped, but when I turned I realized that it wasn't Buzz who called me but Steel.

"Alien, do you not see Lucas is stressed? I am already tired of helping him and you are distracting him." Buzz said as he looked up and scolded Steel.

However the second he looked away from his controller a creeper spawned from behind him since he didn't light up his strip mine and was about to kill him. I took his control and killed it for him.

"I do not care what you say you object, however someone's presence is at the entrance of this establishment and I wished to inform Lucas since their knocking was becoming annoying, I wish to break my codes in peace." Steal left after saying his peace.

*Knock Knock*

As he said that, I heard the knocking coming from my door which I had been too concentrated to listen to before.

"What did you call me, you floating screen!"

*Knock Knock*

Steel however ignored the taunt and floated away into the corner of the living room to continue the code.

[Achievement unlocked-Into the Nether]

"Impossible…this cat has to be cheating!" Buzz shouted as he got back to mining.

*Knock Knock Knock Knock*

"Buzz, don't die for the next 2 seconds please."

"Utter nonsense." Buzz mumbled as I walked away from the TV and reached my door which was constantly being knocked at.

As I opened the door I saw an agitated Blair who seemed pissed off after I opened it.

"Are you deaf?!" She asked in anger.

Seeing her angry I didn't really know how to reply but I managed to stammer something out.

"Urm…hi. Sorry I was playing a game. Wait, it is almost 1 AM, why are you here?"

Why would a person willingly travel in central city alone?

As I said that, I properly observed what she was wearing and couldn't help but think that she was beautiful.

Blair donned a tailored, plaid skirt suit with a coordinating beret perched elegantly atop her perfectly styled locks.

She also had pearl earrings, a statement necklace, and a pair of designer pumps, exuding timeless sophistication.

She had her arms crossed angrily as she looked up to face me.

"You look amazing." I said, this time with complete confidence in my words.

"I know…" Blair mumbled as I visibly could see the anger inside of her face slowly melt but she was trying hard to hold her ground.

"What brings you here?" I couldn't help but ask, to which I saw the entire anger she had from before instantly returned while she pouted and made eye contact with me looking adorable.

"You don't call or text! And then I hear from Serena you took her on a nice date while you just…urgh!" She said in frustration.

Well, I could sort of understand why she was frustrated.

We didn't define our relationship and it was way too early to do so.

But like Cisco said, they might think I am 2 timing them.

To me though it didn't really feel that way.

Sure, I absolutely loved the time I spent with Serena. She treated me like an equal and didn't really care about whatever I did. On paper, she seemed like a better type for me.

However….since when did the heart care about what was on paper?

I couldn't deny that I liked Blair more than Serena, but I also couldn't just admit it since she might think I was being too desperate.

"My bad, I promise I was going to text you tomorrow. I was just waiting to get the right opportunity."

"That's what they all say…anyways I am just here to tell you, if you don't text me back tomorrow I am not going to talk to you anymore. I don't chase guys." She said letting her bottom line be known.

Blair did seem like an extremely rich and fancy girl, and from what I understand no girl would be the one who wanted to do the chasing.

They liked the chase, well at least what my dating sensei, Tom told me.

"How about I make it up to you." I asked her with a slight smile.

"And how would you do that?"

"Hmmmm, we can have another movie night?" I asked with a cheeky smile, and I could see blood rush towards her face as she remembered the night we had a couple of days ago.

"I….I think…" She started to stammer and I began to feel bad for her.

"Wanna take Tom out on a walk instead? We can see how the night goes from there if you would like."

She visibly calmed down and then checked her voice.

"It is a bit late…I only dropped by since University was nearby so I could talk to you." Blair said, checking her watch.

"Oh, so you wanted to talk to me?" I questioned and her blush quickly came back to her face.

"You…FINE, take me out on a walk."

As if hearing our conversation, Tom walked to the entrance of the door with his gaming headphones on and looked at me with an angry expression.

"Tom!" Blair quickly greeted as she walked closer to pet him, but Tom raised his paw and pointed at his headphones.

"He says he is gaming and doesn't want to walk." I translated, to which Tom nodded.

It seemed like Blair was going on a rollercoaster of emotions today, since once again she deflated and slouched her back ever so slightly.

Tom however didn't even care as he just looked at me.

It seems like it is time to pull out my trump card.

I moved Tom's headphones a bit, leaned towards his ears and whispered.

"So what is this I hear about you buying businesses in my name?"

The cat visibly flinched as the color drained from his body as if being caught by the devil himself for a sin.
