Chapter 147 - Yamato

The strongest Captain and the largest figure in the Beasts Pirates were defeated by the "Strongest Gemini" one after another.

The remaining ordinary officers, captains of allied pirates, and elite members naturally couldn't stand their ground by nightfall.

Sonia's strength, at the level of an Emperor's deputy, easily overpowered opponents, including a Warlord of the Sea who had regained their Haki.

There was no need for Kahn to step in.

By the time he caught up with Sonia, who was in her hybrid form, she had already dealt with Jack, Sasaki, and other officers.

Of course, she didn't kill them; instead, she drained their lifespan, turning them into old men too weak even to stand.

Allowing Hancock and Sonia to take down King and Queen was a necessary choice.

This way, a fully-fledged Kaido would feel the sting and keep quiet for a few years, no longer daring to provoke Kahn.

If Kaido hadn't challenged Kahn back then, even though Kahn's low-end, mid-end and high-end combat power outmatched Kaido, he would have treated King and Jack similarly without killing them.

Just as he had only read the memory of Vinsmoke Judge and took his scientific research without taking his life.

A living Queen was certainly more valuable than a dead one.

Similarly, Jack and the other officers and captains had more value alive than dead.

If Kahn hadn't had the ability to control them, killing them would have been the best option.

However, Kahn did have the ability to control them.

So, he didn't let Sonia kill them and instead planned to maximize their usefulness.

"I'll take them to Wano, and you help Gekko Moria," Kahn, who was supporting Kaido with telekinesis, told Sonia. "Kill the weak ones if you must, but if you find someone strong or with a Devil Fruit ability, leave them alive."

"I'll keep an eye on him, Master," Sonia nodded slightly before disappearing as if teleporting through space.

"Sleep now. When you wake up, it'll all be over."

Kahn glanced at the wrinkled, aged faces of Jack and the others floating behind him, their hair now snow-white with fear in their eyes. With a release of Conqueror's Haki, he knocked them all unconscious, as they were too weak to resist.

Kahn then used telekinesis to lift them up and flew toward Wano.

"Hey... wait, wait for me!"

That was when Kahn flew out of the haunted house, soaring into the night sky.

Below him, the sound of shouting suddenly echoed.

Looking down, Kahn saw a girl over 2.5 meters tall, dressed in a white kimono and red hakama, with red devil horns atop her head and long white hair that faded at the ends. She looked about seventeen or eighteen.

She was chasing after Kahn, holding a large mace and yelling excitedly, "The guy who defeated my father, take me with you!"

This girl was clearly Kaido's daughter, Yamato, who had eaten the Mythical Zoan, Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Okuchi-no-Makami.

"If you don't want to get blasted, stay here," Kahn said coldly as he lowered his altitude. "I'll be back, and we'll talk then."

With that, Kahn removed the air barrier and vanished from Yamato's sight within seconds.

Kahn's attitude towards Yamato was clearly indifferent, as she had been obsessed with Kozuki Oden since she was eight.

Now seventeen, not only did she call herself Kozuki Oden, but she also sought to liberate Wano and oust her father's forces.

Kahn, who had many tasks to handle, wasn't sure what to do with Yamato.

After defeating Kaido and Orochi, Kahn would essentially take their place, ruling Wano himself.

If Yamato believed Wano should be returned to the Kozuki family and resisted Kahn's rule, he'd have no choice but to instruct Monet to "deal with" her to prevent her from interfering with his plans.

However, if Yamato didn't mind a new ruler for Wano, Kahn would consider converting her into a future powerhouse for the Cross Family.

For now, Kahn put Yamato aside and planned to assess her later when he had time.

Yamato, however, was unfazed by Kahn's coldness.

Watching the tiny dot that was Kahn in the sky, Yamato excitedly exclaimed, "Even the old man couldn't beat him. How cool!"

In her eyes, Kahn, who had defeated her strong and tyrannical father, was the 'Whitebeard' and 'Roger' she had been waiting for.

Yamato's dream, after being influenced by Kozuki Oden's journal, was to sail the seas, explore the world, and ultimately establish a new country in Wano.

After reading Oden's logbook, Yamato knew that Oden had first met Whitebeard, sailed with his crew, and later joined Roger's pirate crew to reach the final island.

Now, Yamato, who saw herself as Kozuki Oden, was looking for her own 'Whitebeard' and 'Roger.'

To her, Kahn, who had just defeated Kaido, was exactly that.

While Yamato dreamt of her future adventures, Kahn arrived at Wano.

By the time he reached the Flower Capital, Hancock had already finished her battle.

With the two heads of the Kurozumi family dead, Kurozumi Orochi had no powerful fighters left to defend him. He himself was nothing more than a reckless fool.

Despite possessing the Mythical Zoan, Snake-Snake Fruit, Model: Yamata no Orochi, which was one of the most powerful Devil Fruits, Orochi had wasted its potential.

If someone like Douglas Bullet had eaten that fruit, with its ability to grant eight lives and enhance physical strength, they would have become the strongest of their generation.

But in Orochi's hands, such power had been squandered.

Looking at the unconscious, charred form of Kurozumi Orochi, who had been electrocuted by Hancock and now emitted a burnt odour, Kahn said in disgust, "Handcuff him with seastone cuffs, lock him up, and once the war ends, we'll perform a heart transplant and put our people in control of Wano."

"Yes, Master," Mary responded. She retrieved the seastone cuffs from a box and had a non-Devil Fruit user from the Kuja Pirates handcuff Orochi and lock him in the castle cell.

With that, both Kaido and Kurozumi Orochi, who had ruled Wano in both the light and the shadows, were now defeated and under Kahn's control.

"Blu, blu, blu, blu..." The transponder snail Kahn carried suddenly rang.

Good news came from Sonia on Onigashima.

The war was over!

In one night, the Cross Family had successfully taken control of Onigashima and Wano.

The newly crowned Emperor of the Sea, Kaido, hadn't held his position for long before being knocked down by Kahn—**not as his equal, but as his successor.**
