After living in this world for over 30 years, Kahn has unknowingly become one of the greatest obstacles that the "Son of Destiny" must confront. Kahn realizes that unless he becomes an ally or protector of this destined individual or withdraws from the public eye entirely, sooner or later, he will end up clashing with them.
Before Kahn's arrival, the world-shaking war described in the original story had not yet erupted. Still, he can see that this "great war" signifies a confrontation involving all factions that cross paths with the Son of Destiny. This once-in-eight-centuries liberator will challenge the Dragons to become a hero.
If Kahn's influence had remained limited to a select few, like his personal maid Hancock, he might have stayed neutral, watching from the sidelines as the destined one reshaped the world. After all, even the strongest individual can't stand alone against the combined might of the ruling forces. However, Kahn now has both the power and confidence to oppose anyone and any faction.
To put it simply, if Luffy, as in the original story, insists on helping Momonosuke reclaim his country and aims to defeat Kahn and the "Cross Family," Kahn has no qualms about forcing this once-in-eight-centuries liberator into yet another cycle of reincarnation.
Yet, this generation's Son of Destiny, Luffy, has no idea the world's "strongest creature" has given him a choice. Just like in the original story, Luffy, persuaded by Momonosuke's tears and Kin'emon's relentless pleas, decides to help Momonosuke regain control of his homeland.
But Luffy has his own reasons, too. In this version of events, there is no Robin in the Straw Hat crew, leaving them without someone who can read the Poneglyphs. Knowing that reaching Raftel requires deciphering the Road Poneglyphs, and with one already in Momonosuke's possession, Luffy decides to lend his aid.
As Luffy and Ace said in the original tale, it doesn't matter who becomes the Pirate King as long as there's a chance to fight for it. To Luffy, it seems as if any conflict can be resolved through a good brawl. But in this harsh world, not everyone will indulge him in these pirate games.
Getting back to the story…
After obtaining the first Road Poneglyph from Zou, the crew of the Thousand Sunny gains four new members, aside from Momonosuke, Kin'emon, and Raizo. They are Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, the two members of the Nine Red Scabbards who survived unscathed thanks to the butterfly effect, along with Pedro and Carrot from the original story.
To support Momonosuke in reclaiming Wano, the Mink Tribe has allied with the Straw Hat Pirates, becoming the crew's third major ally. And who are the other two? Naturally, they're the Revolutionary Army led by Monkey D. Dragon and the Red-Haired Pirates of the guide, Shanks.
After finding Raizo, the next destination for the Straw Hat Pirates is the Kingdom of Dressrosa.
The Kingdom of Dressrosa is already a powerful presence in the New World and is recognized by the World Government. It ranks as the third of the top 50 countries invited to the annual World Summit. Additionally, Dressrosa is now known as a key entrance to the land of Wano.
Since the "Cross Family" defeated the "Beasts Pirates" and took control of Wano, the area around Wano has become even more mysterious than before, rivalling the secrecy of both the Closed Country and the Calm Belt. Previously, the Beasts Pirates allowed their allied crews to freely access Wano's waters. However, under the Cross Family's rule, only members of the Cross Family are allowed to come and go from Wano, shutting out even figures like Doflamingo. Anyone who attempts to enter Wano by unconventional means, whether using pets or flight, is met with no way out.
Now, with sisters Scarlet and Viola both married to Kahn, Dressrosa has been entrusted to Doflamingo. Each month, Scarlet and others transport medicines and cold weapons crafted by Tontattas and Wano's master swordsmiths, along with firearms produced by Assier, who now oversees the weapons base. These shipments arrive at Dressrosa's port, where Doflamingo arranges buyers and has Transport King's fleet distribute the goods worldwide.
The Dressrosa marina is one of the most famous in the world and serves as the only recognized entryway to Wano, though it denies entry to outsiders.
Over the years, Doflamingo has transformed Dressrosa into one of the most popular resort islands in the New World, positioned close to Wano's highly coveted resources. Acting as an agent and with Granose as one of the top executives of the Cross Family, Doflamingo has turned Dressrosa into a massive marketplace. It's now not only a famous and safe resort island but also the world's leading intermediary market for powerful forces seeking to purchase CrossFamily goods, including medicines and weapons, at below-market prices.
Only strong nations and organizations dare to buy directly from Dressrosa, as weaker forces often risk being robbed on the return journey. Many countries opt for the Cross Family's door-to-door delivery service, which offers more security.
As such, Dressrosa has become one of the most complex and chaotic islands in the New World.
When the Straw Hat Pirates arrive, they're on the lookout for Kanjuro but soon face a new challenge from an Emperor of the Sea. Surprisingly, this threat doesn't come from Kahn, who's nearby, but from the Big Mom Pirates, now allied with the Vinsmoke Family.
While the crew splits up, Sanji and Chopper go shopping for ingredients. Just as Robin once encountered CP9 in the original story, Sanji encounters an envoy from Big Mom's crew. Under threat and for Zeff's safety back in the East Blue, Sanji reluctantly binds Chopper for his safety and leaves Dressrosa with the envoy.
Meanwhile, Luffy heads to Dressrosa's famous coliseum, the Corrida Colosseum, where he reunites with Sabo, his sworn brother and a revolutionary who purchases weapons on behalf of the Revolutionary Army. Sabo also brings news of Ace, and after years apart, the three brothers are finally reunited in the New World.
