Chapter 50 - Human [Part 14]

"How does it feel to be human, Mr. Joe?"

Sebastian's question echoed in the room, but Joe Walker remained silent.

Thousands of questions were currently running through Joe Walker's mind. However, he questioned himself about something he didn't know the answer to. Eventually, he realized that he was currently confused.

"It seems like my voice can't reach you right now. It's hard for me. Why do you look so sad? Are you giving up?"

"Give up? You ask, I'm giving up or not? Yes, I give up! If not giving up, what else can I do? What else can I do besides giving up? You!yourself told me that there's no way to save them, right?" Joe Walker appeared very angry at that moment, but he didn't even turn towards Sebastian. Because Sebastian was currently in the form of Alice. It would only make his guilt stronger.

"Who said there's no way to save them?"

Upon hearing that, Joe Walker immediately turned with strong hope. While continuing to hope in his heart, Joe Walker asked, "Is there still a way to save them?"

"Of course, I only said you couldn't time travel to the past. Since when did I say there's no way to save them?"

Joe Walker smiled at that moment, he immediately hugged Sebastian and said, "Thank you! Thank you!"

"Why are you thanking me? Only you can save them. I can't descend directly into the world. My limitations are only in this 'cosmic' space and also this 'observer' place. The one with the authority to directly intervene in the world is only you, Mr. Joe."

Joe Walker began to release his embrace while saying, "I thank you for giving me hope."

"Huft... from the beginning, you should have asked how you could save those two girls. I only explained that you couldn't time travel at the moment, and you started crying. That confused me a little."

"Ahahahaha, sorry... So, how can I save them?"

"Reversing the time of this world."

"Reversing time?"

"Yes, the 'observer' officers can do it for you if you agree. For now, how about we analyze what happened to you at that time?"

Joe Walker looked gloomy again and said, "You're right, I should investigate everything that happened before I met them. If That way, they wouldn't have felt that pain like now."

"It's not your fault. From the beginning, this universe has stopped its time temporarily because of your arrival. There is no future in this world, only the present and the past. And you've been in the present all this time. This world and everything in it move according to your presence. Without you, this world is just a frozen world that doesn't move. That's why it's impossible for you to see the future of this world because the future of this world hasn't been created yet."

"Why does it need to be stopped?"

Sebastian sighed and said, "think about it, if someone wants to fix a laptop, what should that person do?"

"Find someone who can fix it?"

"Correct, but not that! It needs to be turned off first! The laptop must be in a state because it's going to be fixed!"

"Oh, I think I understand what you mean."

"Hmm, do I need to explain it like to a kindergarten teacher for you to understand everytime?"

"Ehehe, sorry... I still don't quite understand the metaverse you're referring to."

"Universe! Multiverse! Omniverse! Outerverse! There is no metaverse! Do you think the entire universe is just an internet network?"

"Ahahaha, sorry... I forgot."

"You are so foolish..."

"Ugh... I can't argue with that this time."

"I'll explain it to you another time. But for now, it seems like you're more curious about something else."

Joe Walker's face became more serious. His gaze sharpened as he stared at Sebastian from head to toe and said, "First of all, can you change your voice? It's a bit uncomfortable for me to see Alice's form with a mature man's voice."

"Oh, you're right. It seems so."

Sebastian then changed his voice to sound as much like Alice as possible.

"The first thing you probably want to ask right now is 'why is everyone there acting strange?' right?"

"No doubt, I will definitely ask that. Do you know why?"

"I have obtained data from some human you know in that world. Shall I display it now?"

"Yes, please, this room is quite spacious. It feels a bit lonely without anything displayed around."

"You're right. Does this make you lonely?" Sebastian said while creating several screens floating around them.

"No, because you're here with me."

"Is it because of my current form resembling Alice?"

"No, with anyone, even if is not alice and maria, I wouldn't feel lonely."

"Then why did you feel so lonely in the 'enigma room'? You hate your special room in 'the end,' right?"

"I don't hate it, it's just that the loneliness there is very dreadful. It almost drove me crazy and bored me to death. And what made me lonely there was because you were rarely there!"

"Oh, so that's it... I apologize if I can't accompany you there more often."

"It's okay, but if I may ask... when you're not with me there, what do you do?"

"Nothing important, just doing my duties as an angel. Recording the behavior of living beings throughout the universe, comparing their good and bad karma. Deciding where someone's core should be placed. Reincarnating someone, appointing new angels, escorting the cores of living beings to heaven or hell. That's all, nothing special."

Joe Walker was surprised to hear that and exclaimed, "What do you mean nothing special? Are you mocking me? All your tasks sound enjoyable and also terrifying!"

"Calling my job terrifying is a bit offensive. It is a noble job!"

"Oh, yes! I just thought of this! Don't hold a grudge against me, okay? Let me know if I make a mistake with you. I don't want to go to hell just because you're holding a grudge against me."

"Do you think angels can do as they please? We are all directly monitored by the Creator! Making a mistake unintentionally can lead to punishment. Especially if done intentionally! I could be destroyed if that happens."

"Hah? Has the Creator ever done that?"

"Never, but just in case, I will continue to think like that. It's a bit difficult to have emotions because you often doubt. That's why I'm more focused on guiding you rather than doing the general tasks of the angels."

"'Guiding Angel'... That's quite a cool nickname, isn't it?"

"Instead of discussing this, let's focus on this issue first."

"Oh yes, I almost forgot! Let me see it too!"

The two of them now looked at the same screens, screens created by Sebastian himself.
