Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 Magic nucleus

Klaus drew his spear from behind his back and plunged it so fiercely into the Buffalo's neck that blood spurted forth. The Buffalo stared at Klaus with wide-open eyes, still clutching the blood-stained horn in his hand.

At that moment, a Buffalo took the opportunity to sneak up behind Klaus and attack him. The Buffalo man raised his long knife and slashed at Klaus. The knife clashed against the armor with a sharp metallic sound. Fortunately, the armor Klaus was wearing was incredibly tough, so he escaped injury. Quickly, he twisted his body to face his assailant, the Buffalo, and the fire of anger burned in his eyes.

The next second, the Buffalo native was kicked to the ground.

One by one, however, the Buffalo men kept coming. Some of them leaped out of the dense forest beside him, others rushed up from the base of the hill, and others emerged from other holes.

They had only one goal: to capture the Magic Crystal.

Even the Succubus, who were skilled fighters, looked a little weak against the Buffaloes, who outnumbered them several times. Some of the Succubus had their bellies pierced by the sharp horns of the Buffaloes, and their blood and intestines were exposed directly outside their bodies.

As the leader of the team, Ruby hastily contacted Yuna with the crystal and begged her to open the magic portal immediately.

When the portal was finally opened, Ruby first shielded the other Succubus to escort the Magic Crystal into the portal, then she yelled at Klaus and Rand.

"The portal is about to close, you guys get in!" Ruby shouted, and jumped directly into the yellow aperture of the portal, leaving only Klaus and Rand on the scene, still struggling in the fight.

Among them were two Buffalo men who had seen the Magic Crystal pushed through the portal by the Succubus. They, too, dashed into the portal without hesitation. At that moment, the magical aperture of the portal grew lighter and lighter in color. It was a harbinger of the portal's imminent closure.

"Rand, get into the portal!" Klaus withdrew the spear that had pierced the breast of one of the Buffalo men and, with the strength of his body, he drove it through another who was about to pounce upon him.

At that moment, Rand was fighting the Buffalo with his bare hands. His two hands gripped the horns of the two buffaloes before they collided head-on.

The two Buffalo men's heads collided with the sound of bones cracking, and a stream of blood ran down the center of their foreheads to their noses. The moment Rand let go, the two Buffalo men immediately fell to the ground, unable to move.

"Come on, Rand," Klaus said as he broke through the siege of several Buffalo men, and he jumped as fast as he could into the fading circle of magical light.

Violent winds greeted him inside the portal, and all Klaus could do was shield his eyes from the glare and sand with his hands. He turned his head to make sure that Rand had followed him in, but there was only a gray haze behind him.

"Rand!" Klaus yelled into the gray mist, but got no response.

In a few seconds, Rand's face appeared in the gray mist, struggling to make his way towards Klaus, his mouth opening and closing as if he were calling to his brother.

As Klaus and Rand both fell to the grass, they realized that they were back in the territory of the Succubus.

Klaus noticed the bodies of two Buffalo men lying on the side of the grass. They were supposed to be the ones who had just followed the Succubus into the portal. The two dead Buffalo men had distorted facial expressions, and their bodies were dry and flat, as if they had been drained, leaving only empty skin.

Beside Yuna stood two Succubus warriors, and the blood on the trident they held was not quite dry. The Succubus on Yuna's left could not help but secretly lick it off with his long tongue.

"Welcome back, troll warriors." Yuna's soft voice lingered in their ears.

Rand immediately got up from the grass and questioned Yuna, "Where is our Magic Crystal?"

"Don't worry, I have ordered someone to put the Magic Crystal in a safe place." Yuna smiled, "We will keep the Magic Crystal for you for now."

"I don't trust you guys." Rand said, "Take me to the place where the Magic Crystal is kept."

Yuna's beautiful eyes twinkled with a hint of displeasure, but she quickly resumed her earlier gentleness.

"Come with me then," Yuna said.

They followed Yuna to a secret room and watched as she took out a silver key. She inserted the key into the lock of the secret chamber and twisted it twice, first to the left and then to the right.

The door to the secret chamber opened of its own accord, and Klaus and Rand saw that it contained their magic crystals.

"Here's the key." Yuna handed Rand the silver key, "No one can open this door without it."

To make sure that Yuna's words were true, Rand attempted to open the door to the secret room in different ways after closing it, with the result that, as Yuna had said, only the key could open the door.

"Though the trolls and the Succubus have not really joined forces yet, I hope we retain a little trust in each other." Yuna flashed a sweet smile, "So, can I have the Gray Spider's Magic Nucleus now?"

Rand nodded to Klaus, who then took the Magic Nucleus from his pocket and handed it to Yuna.

The moment Yuna received the Magic Nucleus, she could no longer conceal her inner joy, as if it were as precious as some life-saving medicine.

"Thank you." Yuna said from the bottom of her heart, "I admire your courage, and I'd like to organize a celebration party for you, and talk about the details of the marriage in the meantime. What do you think?"

"I just want to rest now." Klaus was not interested in a party; the fight in the Promised Land had drained him of much energy, and, as he still bore the scars of the fight with the Buffalo, rest was of great importance to him.

"I want the party to be filled with beautiful women and endless drinks." Rand was more interested in the celebration than Klaus.

"I will do my best to fulfill your needs," Yuna said. "For now, I suggest you return to your rooms and rest. I will ensure that the maids bring food to your rooms. I expect both of you to be on time for the evening celebration."

Yuna gave Klaus a deep look, a teasing and ambiguous one. Klaus pretended not to see it, after all, the seductions of the Succubus were never without a purpose.

"I'll see you tonight, beautiful." Rand said, slapping Yuna's round bottom with his hand.
