"In every classroom, there are different groups. The girls usually stick together, some of them trying to get close to the most popular guy, Hiyamir. He's the top student in class #1, and the girls are crazy about him.
I'm the same age as him, but I can't figure out why he gets all the attention from the girls. I even want some attention from a girl myself. I've known Hiyamir since kindergarten, and we've been in the same class all through elementary and middle school. But there's something about him that I just don't get. How does he always manage to attract everyone's attention? I've been asking myself that question over and over again, but I can't seem to find an answer."
I just sighed and pulled out my textbook. A nerdy guy like me never gets any attention from girls, right? With this plain face of mine, I doubt any girl would like me.
As usual, I had my glasses on, buried in my textbook for the next class. I noticed Hiyamir chatting with his friends, not really studying. But how does he manage to get such good grades? I thought maybe he was cheating or something, but I couldn't accuse him. I knew Hiyamir worked hard, not just for himself but also for his classmates. He studied even more than others so he could help out his classmates when they came running to him for help.
As I was immersed in my textbook, our teacher, Ms. Karen, entered the room and stood in front of the class. Hiyamir took the lead, and the whole class greeted her in unison.
We all greeted her smoothly and rhythmically, but before everyone could settle back into their seats, a strange circle with unfamiliar symbols appeared out of nowhere, blinding us. When we opened our eyes, we found ourselves in an unfamiliar place.
"Oh... it appears we've successfully summoned the Heroes from another world," said the bald old man wearing a white coat resembling a priest. Oddly enough, I could understand the language they were speaking, but my classmates and Ms. Karen seemed unable to comprehend the words coming out of the old man's mouth.
As everyone was still in a panic, Hiyamir took a step forward and calmed the whole class by raising his right hand.
"Guys, please listen to me," Hiyamir said, and his words instantly brought calm to the room as everyone looked directly at him. "It seems I can understand their language," he continued, surprising me since I thought I was the only one who could understand them.
I kept quiet and pretended to listen as Hiyamir spoke. Before he could say more, a blue screen window appeared in front of us. I slowly looked at my status; most of my stats were low, but I figured it was because we had never trained or experienced combat.
"Um... Mr. Hero from another world," the bald old man said as he approached Hiyamir with his hand closed.
"Now that my classmates are calmed down, can you answer our questions?" Hiyamir kept his cool, unlike me, who would've likely ignored them, much like I was doing now.
"What happened to us? Who are you? Where are we?" Hiyamir asked, throwing three questions at the bald old man.
The old man sighed and looked at us seriously, as if he was about to scold us. Everyone knew we weren't in our world, yet they remained calm. Was this the effect of being with Hiyamir? I wondered, then slowly moved to my right and joined the middle of my crowded classmates.
"Before that, Mr. and Ms. Heroes, could you follow me to receive a warm greeting?" the bald old man said.
Hiyamir hesitated about whether to follow or not, but in the end, he decided to follow against his own will. I knew he always prioritized others over himself. He was a true "Ikemen" in real life, with both good looks and a good heart.
As we followed the bald old man, they led us to a dining room and seated us there. They even served us food.
"While our heroes eat, I'd like to tell you the reason why you are here," the old man remarked.
"Firstly, that blue screen in your face right now is called a status. It dictates your body status and such. With this, we can see what 'job' and 'skills' you have. It's a system that helps you and the whole world become strong enough," the old man explained.
His explanation seemed a bit rough, something only an otaku would love. But what concerned me more was why my system status suddenly gave me the job of "Healer" out of the blue.
I couldn't shake off my curiosity about why I was assigned the role of a healer. If there were specific jobs for each of us, then surely Hiyamir could be a commander, general, or something similar. Yet, I couldn't help but doubt whether having a job was truly an advantage here.
For now, I decided to conceal my status and focus on improving. From what I've read and watched in anime and manga, being summoned like this could mean being thrown into battle. But the question remained: why did these people summon us? Who are their enemies that they needed help from another world?
"This is the Leonhard Kingdom. Our King, King Marhell, and Queen Mariel received an Oracle from our Goddess Lumenia, stating that a hero from another world would come to save us from the Demons," the bald priest solemnly declared. Though we have little to offer, Hiyamir couldn't refuse such a sincere plea for help. While we lack resources now, with the potential of our System Status, there's a long road ahead of us.
***
Firstly, Hiyamir and Other Classmates with Ms. Karen, he gather them around and explain the current situation of us. All though I don't need to hear it because I heard it and Understand myself.
As Hiyamir finished explaining the situation to us.
"Fine, I'm gonna reveal my status to everyone," Hiyamir declared solemnly, breaking the tense silence. "My Job is: Hero. Special Skill: Limit Breaker." The room erupted in gasps of surprise and disbelief. Hiyamir, a hero? It seemed almost too incredible to be true.
Before anyone could fully process Hiyamir's revelation, another voice cut through the air. "Then, I'm gonna reveal mine too!" It was Jeiric, the notorious troublemaker of our group. Despite our differences, I couldn't help but feel a sense of solidarity with him in this moment. We were all in this together, whether we liked it or not.
As Jeiric proudly declared his Job class as a White Knight with skill of Braver, the room buzzed with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. One by one, the rest of our classmates began to reveal their own Job classes, ranging from combat-ready roles to more mundane ones suited for chores and tasks.
Out of the 32 of us, nearly half boasted combat-oriented Job classes. It was a reassuring sight, knowing that we had a formidable force among us.
Hiyamir's gaze fell upon me, and he approached with a mixture of curiosity and concern. "Erm... Elijah. Can you reveal your Job class too?" he asked, his voice gentle and encouraging.
I hesitated, feeling a pang of unease at the thought of revealing my Job class. It didn't feel right to disclose that I was a healer, for reasons I couldn't quite articulate.
Summoning my resolve, I decided to share a part of myself with the group. "My Class is Sneaker," I announced, my voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty. "I can navigate through various spaces using stealth techniques, although there are limitations if the space is too cramped for me."
As I spoke, I stole a glance at the bald priest, who observed us with a warm smile that seemed to light up the room. Perhaps he found solace in the diversity of our abilities, knowing that each of us had something unique to offer.
Hiyamir diligently recorded our names and Job classes then he give it to the bald priest.
"Everyone do you agreed to follow me? Because I want to save this world from those Demons!!" As Hiyamir boldly declared his decision to lead us in the fight against the Demons, a moment of tense silence hung in the air. Slowly, one by one, my classmates approached him, their expressions ranging from determination to uncertainty.
"Hell yeah!" Jeiric and his cohorts exclaimed, their enthusiasm palpable. I couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration at their selfishness, their focus solely on the excitement of the adventure ahead.
Meanwhile, a group of otakus in the corner whispered amongst themselves, their laughter strange and unnerving. I made a mental note to keep my distance from them for the time being, preferring to stay under the radar.
As the others gathered around Hiyamir, I seized the opportunity to slip away unnoticed. Sneaking towards the gap in the large doors through which we had entered the room, I quietly made my escape.
If my classmates chose to stay and fight, it was their decision. But I couldn't shake the feeling of unease knowing that they were unaware of the consequences of their actions. The summoning magic that brought us here seemed to have been wielded without consideration for our return to our own world.
For now, I would focus on finding a way back home, away from this uncertain and dangerous place.
With my thumb and index fingers pressed against my chin, I pondered my next move in this unfamiliar world. Suddenly, a voice broke through my thoughts, drawing my attention to a figure with golden-yellow hair. Her locks appeared smooth and silky, a stark contrast to the chaotic scene around us all though we are out side of the room we could hear those people cheering voice. But what intrigued me most was her elegance—a quality I hadn't encountered among my classmates, who often seemed more like rowdy gorillas than refined individuals.
"Erm... What are you doing here, Mister Hero?" she inquired, her tone curious yet composed.
Taken aback by her presence, I struggled to formulate a coherent response. "Oh, um... just thinking," I replied awkwardly, feeling a hint of embarrassment at being caught in my lost in thought state.
Her gaze seemed to penetrate my thoughts, as if searching for deeper meaning behind my words. I couldn't help but wonder who she was and what brought her to this place.
Collecting myself, I attempted to offer a more coherent explanation. "I'm just considering my options for the time being," I explained, hoping to convey a sense of purpose despite my uncertainty.
"What options?" she inquired, tilting her head in a cute manner, her golden hair cascading around her.
Caught off guard by her adorable gesture, I hesitated before gathering my thoughts. "Um... Can I ask you something?" I ventured, opting for 'woman' instead of 'girl' to reflect her composed demeanor.
"Of course," she replied with a gentle smile, encouraging me to proceed.
"Um... Can you tell me about the job classes?" I blurted out, eager to learn more about the unfamiliar world we found ourselves in.
"Oh... I see." She suddenly let out a cute 'i see' in front of me.
As she began to explain, I listened intently, eager to grasp the intricacies of this new world.
"In this world," she started, her voice clear and precise, "each person is blessed with a specific job class and skills from birth. Not only that, but individuals have the ability to upgrade their skills and job classes under specific conditions. However, there's no recorded history on how to achieve these upgrades."
Her words resonated with me, painting a picture of a society governed by unique abilities and potential for growth.
She continued, her tone taking on a more somber note. "There's also a class that's considered worthless due to its dangerous effects: the Healer. When a person uses healing magic, they risk losing their sanity. As a result, many healers in the kingdom hide their abilities. However, the King allows them to remain hidden, as they pose no threat to the kingdom."
Her explanation shed light on the complexities of this world, revealing both its wonders and its dangers. As I absorbed her words, I couldn't help but feel a sense of fear mixed with unsure feelings.
The connection between healing magic and the risk of losing one's sanity is indeed puzzling. It could be due to the immense strain that wielding such powerful magic places on the mind, or there may be deeper, mystical reasons behind it. As for my Healing Great skill, it seems to be a valuable asset, particularly since it enhances healing effects for myself alone.
Lost in contemplation once more, I was brought back to the present when the blondie girl addressed me. "Thank... You erm...." I hesitated, uncertain of how to address her without causing offense.
Before I could stumble over my words further, she offered a warm smile and introduced herself as Cristina Elliot. Her angelic smile eased my nerves as she gracefully departed.
Watching her go, I felt a sense of gratitude for her kindness and a newfound determination to navigate this unfamiliar world. With a deep breath, I followed her with only my eyes and went inside the room where my classmates are.
"Elijah, we've decided to fight for this kingdom. Would you like to join us?" Hiyamir's sudden appearance caught me off guard as he asked me to stand by his side in the upcoming battle.
"Sure," I replied bluntly, my mind already racing with plans to gather information about this world.
With my agreement, Hiyamir dashed off to inform the Bald Priest of our decision to fight alongside them. My reasons for joining were twofold: to gather data about this world and to return back.
"We will sincerely guide our hero to become strong enough to face off against those Demons," the priest assured us. Then, he introduced us to the youngest Royal Knight of Leonhard, Knight Kairo.
"I, Royal Knight Kairo Silford, will do my best to train and strengthen these heroes," Kairo declared with determination, his shining armor reflecting his youthful vigor.
Observing Kairo's appearance, I couldn't help but notice the subtle giggles and whispers from some of my girl classmates. It was clear why they were amused; Kairo possessed a strikingly handsome face and an impressive physique, even beneath the layers of armor. His presence seemed to exude confidence and strength, drawing the attention of those around him.
Though I couldn't blame my classmates for their reactions, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of discomfort at their obvious admiration. It was as if Kairo's appearance alone commanded respect and attention, overshadowing the significance of his role as a Royal Knight and mentor to us heroes.
Brushing aside any lingering feelings of envy or insecurity, I reminded myself of the task at hand gather data and go home.
The Priest say his goodbye to us and good night like he was our father, then he ordered the knights behind Kairo to guide us to our room.
As we followed behind Kairo and the other knights, I couldn't help but admire the grandeur of the building we were in. The architecture was impressive, with sturdy pillars and intricate designs that spoke of skilled craftsmanship. Even the hallway exuded an air of elegance, with its pristine cleanliness suggesting meticulous upkeep.
Arriving at our designated rooms, I was taken aback by the lavish accommodations provided by the kingdom. Each of us was given our own room, with the girls housed in a separate building to ensure their privacy. The rooms themselves were magnificent, furnished with well-made and expensive furniture that spoke of luxury and comfort.
"Erm... Umm..." I peeked out from my door and called for the knight who had guided us. "Can I ask for a favor? I'd like to read some of your kingdom's language books, history books, and also a healer's history," I requested.
"Why do you need those, Mister Hero?" the knight inquired.
"I have trouble sleeping if I don't have something to read," I replied, offering a plausible excuse, although even my mother wouldn't likely have been convinced. Surprisingly, the knight smiled and promised to fetch the books for me, but mentioned they needed to get permission first.
"I'll also arrange for you to visit the library with the librarian and priest," the knight added kindly.
As I waited for the books to arrive, I couldn't help but wonder about the knights' behavior. Was I the only one among my classmates to request books, or did others simply not think to ask? Pushing aside my curiosity, I sat on the bed and glanced out the window, where I noticed three moons illuminating the sky—one green, one blue, and another resembling the moon of Earth.
A smile crept across my face as I reflected on the surreal situation. "I'm really in a fucking another world." I muttered, accepting the reality that we were no longer in our own world. Tomorrow promised intense training with the knights, but for now, I allowed myself a moment to embrace the absurdity of our circumstances.
*Knock! Knock*
As I opened the door, I was greeted by two knights holding a stack of books, each with four volumes. They placed them carefully on the table beside my bed.
"These eight books contain histories, including that of the healers, language references, and our basic training manual," one of the knights explained.
"Thank you very much," I replied, feeling a mix of gratitude and uncertainty as they left the room and closed the door behind them. Alone once more, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the gesture. How could I adequately express my gratitude in such a surreal situation? With a sigh, I settled into a chair and began to leaf through the pages of the books, eager to delve into the mysteries of this new world.
