Gavriel sat in the bed with his back leaning against the grandiose headboard.
His one hand rested on his folded knee while the other gently stroked red wavy locks that were scattered on the off-white bedsheet.
He gazed through the opened window that revealed a beautiful glow of the magnificent red and orange sunrise.
It was already morning, but the girl laying in the bed was still fast asleep.
He wondered who the maid was and who the master was because here he was already awake, yet his supposed maid was still sleeping comfortably.
The glow shone upon her sleeping face, casting a golden facade over the sleeping beauty.
Gavriel gawked at the girl, absent-mindedly observing every feature on her delicate face.
He knew the girl's features were striking, but staring at her now, she was exquisite.
He continued to slowly stroke her hair.
"Knock, knock." Two knocks sounded on the door before he heard it being opened.
A tidy Butler entered the room dressed in his back and white uniform, looking sharp. His hands pushed a silver trolley that carried different bowls, plates, and utensils that contained various foods.
Matthew bowed to greet his Majesty, "This humble servant wishes his Majesty a Good Morning," he voiced, merely glancing at Florah for a split second.
The king nodded in return, standing up to walk in the direction of the bathroom.
With Matthew left standing alone, he shifted his attention to listen to the girl's heartbeat that was steady and normal, indicating that she was still alive.
Furrowing his brows a little, he shifted his attention to setting up the dining table.
By the time Gavriel emerged refreshed from the bathroom, Matthew had already finished setting up the delicacies on the small dining table.
A neat white shirt, a black pair of trousers, a black already knotted tie, a black double breasted suit and a well polished pair of black leather shoes were all neatly laid on the clothing stand near the full length mirror.
Gavriel strutted his half-naked self to the mirror, dropping his damp towel. He started dressing his body one at a time.
Matthew had backed away a bit to give the man his much needed privacy. Though Gavriel didn't mind, he still did it nonetheless.
After he was done dressing, he walked to a certain cabinet and picked up his silver cufflinks.
Matthew walked over to help the king, " From which section of the library did you get that book from?" Gavriel asked his Butler.
Matthew subtly looked up to answer the king, "From the section you instructed your Majesty, the upper left side." He calmly answered.
Gavriel was silent for a moment as if thinking, "Had you seen that book there before l sent you." The king inquired.
"No, your majesty," Matthew answered diligently.
By now, Matthew was already done with helping the king with his cufflinks.
"Is there something wrong with the book, sire?" Matthew asked a hint of curiosity swirling in his eyes.
"Why did you bring me that book, Matt?" Gavriel answered with another question
"I felt something odd about the book," he answered.
Continuing, he said, "l had never seen the book in that section of the library before, and when i took it out, it had such unusual symbols and letters on it. It had several torn and missing pages while the other half was blank. His Majesty did ask for an interesting book about the creatures in Zadroth."
After his explanation, the butler bowed to show his sincere obedience to the King's order.
Gavriel listened to the man with little to no interest because whatever he said was what he knew he would get out of him.
The king just left it at that and marched towards the dining table.
Matthew knew his presence was nolonger needed, so he gave one last glance at the sleeping girl , politely bowed to the king and made a silent exit.
Gavriel set his sharp eyes on the book that lay beside the bed on a short bedside table.
"Mmmmhhh," a moan of satisfaction broke the silence in the room.
Florah stretched tiredly on the bed, moaning satisfactorily over the good night and resting her tired body needed.
She buried her face in the soft cloud like pillow. She knew she had to get up to go to work in the market, but she was too tired despite the fact that she had slept well.
Forcing her eyelids upwards, the golden glow that greeted her 'good morning' slapped whatever sleep that she felt earlier...
