Chapter 166: Tang God King Faces Another Major Confrontation
"Xiao Yu!"
Having revealed all his trump cards, Tang San's momentum surged as he declared coldly, "The humiliation in Soto City, the abuse outside Star Dou Forest, and the inhumane torment you Nine Star Hall inflicted on me in Sunset Forest—I will settle all these scores today!"
"Hey, hey, hey, let's get the facts straight here! Don't just throw accusations around!"
Xiao Yu quickly interrupted Tang San's self-righteous speech. "In Soto City, it was you and Dai Mubai who wrecked the entire hotel in a fight. I only stepped in to stop it. Outside Star Dou Forest, you sought me out first. As for Sunset Forest, it was your own greed that drove you to sneak into the Nine Star Hall to steal our treasures, and you got caught red-handed. You weren't executed only because Ning Fengzhi, the master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, pleaded for your life. Don't act like some innocent victim here. From the start, everything I've done has been justified retaliation!"
"What?! Tang San is this shameless?!"
"Unbelievable! The instigator is standing here acting like the victim in front of the actual party involved. Where does he get the audacity?"
"Exactly! And to think I just felt a little sympathy for him, assuming he was oppressed by Nine Star Hall."
"I've always known Tang San wasn't a good person. You guys probably don't know this, but during the qualifiers, he used ruthless tactics on rival academies. Some people were even left mentally incapacitated because of him!"
Whispers filled the air as disdainful gazes turned to Tang San.
"You're lying!"
Tang San's face flushed red, a mix of anger and embarrassment from having his misdeeds exposed.
"Lying? About what?"
Xiao Yu casually raised his chin and gestured toward the Pope's Palace. "Ning Fengzhi is right up there. How about we invite him to verify?"
All eyes immediately turned to Ning Fengzhi, seated in front of the Pope's Palace.
"That's true!"
Before Ning Fengzhi could respond, Sword Douluo Chen Xin, known for his upright character, nodded in confirmation. He had always disdained Tang San's petty thievery.
With Sword Douluo's admission, Ning Fengzhi couldn't contradict his sect's own loyal protector. Besides, Nine Star Hall had used a special soul tool to record all of Tang San's actions in Sunset Forest. Even if Ning Fengzhi wanted to lie to protect Tang San, the truth would eventually come out, tarnishing the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's reputation within the Soul Master world.
With confirmation from both Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo, the soul masters around them looked at Tang San with even more contempt. Some hot-tempered individuals couldn't hold back and began hurling curses.
"Ah! Xiao Yu, you deserve to die!"
Tang God King, proud as ever, could not tolerate the judgmental gazes and harsh words. He blamed all his troubles on Xiao Yu. With a furious roar, he leaned back slightly and drove his Eight Spider Lances into the ground. The joints of the lances bent simultaneously before snapping straight, propelling Tang San forward like lightning.
As he accelerated, Tang San lunged at Xiao Yu with the Clear Sky Hammer raised high. Just as he approached, he swung the massive hammer downward with all his might.
"Such a trivial trick!"
Xiao Yu smirked disdainfully as a black aura shimmered around him. The Hades Sword appeared in his hand, and he slashed outward.
Sword clashed with hammer, and a violent shockwave erupted. Tang San, as if struck by a tremendous force, flew back at the same speed with which he had attacked.
"Damn it! Xiao Yu was holding back this much power?!"
Mid-flight, Tang San realized the situation was dire and hurriedly tried to shout his surrender.
Xiao Yu didn't even give Tang San a chance to admit defeat. His fourth soul ring lit up, and layers upon layers of sword shadows rained down on Tang San like a torrential storm.
Tang San's expression changed drastically. He frantically swung the Clear Sky Hammer in his hands, doing his utmost to block the relentless barrage of sword rain.
But how could the attacks of Xiao Yu, whose strength was near the Soul Sage level, be stopped by Tang San, who was merely at level 42? Despite Tang San giving it his all, the sword rain quickly broke through the Clear Sky Hammer's defenses. The densely packed sword shadows landed all over Tang San's body, piercing his skin and tearing his flesh, forcing him to let out heart-wrenching screams.
When the attack of Xiao Yu's fourth soul skill finally ended, Tang San was covered in wounds. Blood gushed from him like a fountain, staining not just his body but the entire arena beneath his feet in a gruesome red.
"Xiao San!"
The sight of his beloved disciple in such a miserable state caused Yu Xiaogang to cry out in shock. He quickly shouted to the referee, "Referee, we for—"
Before he could finish saying the word "feit," Xiao Yu had already turned into a streak of black light and appeared in front of Tang San.
Smack! Smack!
Two crisp slaps rang out, and Tang San, already cornered at the edge of the arena, was sent flying off the stage by Xiao Yu's strikes.
Tang San, who had fallen off the platform, glared furiously at Xiao Yu. This was the second time he had suffered such humiliation at Xiao Yu's hands. The first time was at the Rose Hotel in Soto City; this time, it was during the grand spectacle of the All-Continent Soul Master Tournament. To Tang San, this was an unbearable insult!
"What are you looking at, trash?"
Xiao Yu cast a disdainful glance at Tang San. He knew that for someone like Tang God King, trampling his dignity underfoot was far more painful than simply killing him.
Pfft!
As expected, Xiao Yu's gaze of utter contempt struck Tang God King like a dagger. The surging blood in his chest became uncontrollable, and with a sweet taste in his throat, he spat out a mouthful of blood before collapsing unconscious.
"Xiao San!"
Yu Xiaogang cried out again and hurried to Tang San, taking his battered disciple into his arms. His eyes locked onto Xiao Yu with a venomous intensity, like a viper preparing to strike.
Xiao Yu, however, showed no courtesy to Yu Xiaogang, whom he saw as a pretentious fraud. "A teacher even more useless than his trash disciple—if you don't want your eyes, keep staring at me like that."
"How dare you!"
Liu Erlong, who had come with Yu Xiaogang, exploded with rage upon hearing this. Fiery soul power radiated from her, surging toward Xiao Yu like a blazing inferno.
"You can try."
Xiao Yu calmly channeled his soul power, completely unaffected by Liu Erlong's oppressive aura. With an air of utter nonchalance, he said, "Not even you, nor his other 'old flame,' could protect him if I've decided otherwise."
At this, Bibi Dong's expression turned ashen. Ning Fengzhi, Chrysanthemum Douluo, Ghost Douluo, and others who were privy to the truth instinctively glanced in her direction.
As for her "filial daughter," Qian Renxue, she fixed Bibi Dong with an intensely provocative and mocking gaze, her eyes brimming with scorn.
Bibi Dong, however, couldn't act out. Among those present, aside from a few high-ranking individuals, most soul masters were unaware of her history with Yu Xiaogang. If she were to rebuke Xiao Yu, wouldn't that essentially be a public confession?
Meanwhile, Liu Erlong's face was full of shock. She was a level 78 Soul Sage, yet Xiao Yu, not only a full grade below her but also someone who had just gone through several intense battles, could still match her aura and soul power with ease.
How strong was this young man's true power?
