Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Recalling that wonderful night, Kaito always had a smile on his face. Today was supposed to be the last day of his vacation; he had extended it for quite a while, and both his father and mother were asking when he would return. Besides, there were some technological projects that needed to be completed, and his presence was required.

Therefore, today was the day he would bid farewell to Nanaka and her family. After packing his things and returning the hotel key to the landlord, he got into his car and set off for Nanaka's house. Once he arrived, he parked his car and entered the diving shop, where he was greeted by Nanaka.

Seeing who entered, Nanaka got up with a smile and said, "Welcome, Kaito-kun, I thought you'd be leaving today." Hearing this, Kaito replied with a smile, "Yes, I came to say goodbye one last time." Nanaka, jokingly, replied, "And here I was, thinking you had forgotten about me and wouldn't say goodbye one last time."

Upon hearing this, Kaito said with a small smile, "I would never forget you." Nanaka blushed at this and remained silent. At that moment, Nanaka's father came out from a door and, upon seeing Kaito, greeted him with a smile, "Oh, Kaito, good to see you, I thought you were leaving today." Hearing this, Kaito smiled and said, "Yes, I thought I'd come by to say goodbye to everyone one last time."

Kaito spent the morning at the Kotegawa's house and was also invited to have lunch with them, which he accepted. After lunch, he bid farewell to both Mr. Toshio and Chisa and prepared to get into his car to head back to Tokyo.

As he was about to get into his car, he heard, "Kaito-kun, wait!" He turned around and saw Nanaka running towards him. Once she reached him, she handed him a lunchbox with food and said with a smile, "Take this, I made it especially for you in case you get hungry during your journey." Kaito received the lunchbox and said with a smile, "Thank you very much, I'll enjoy it to the fullest during the trip."

With a smile, Nanaka replied, "I hope so," and with a slight blush and an expectant tone, she asked, "When will you be back?" Looking at Nanaka, Kaito was surprised by how beautiful she looked at that moment, with her flushed face and her hair gently swaying in the wind. At that moment, Kaito confirmed that he was deeply in love with Nanaka.

Not hearing a response to her question, Nanaka looked up and saw Kaito staring at her, astonished. Nervously, she said, "K-Kaito-kun?" Waking up from his reverie, Kaito said with a warm smile, "Soon, I'll be back as soon as possible," and then he bowed, gently took Nanaka's hand, kissed it, and said with a smile and a longing gaze, "Just wait for me, I'll be back as soon as possible."

Surprised by the situation, Nanaka blushed until smoke came out of her head and replied robotically, "Y-Yes, of course." Upon this, Kaito gave a small smile, got into his car, and left.

By the time Nanaka snapped out of her reverie, Kaito was already gone. She looked towards the direction he had left with a longing gaze and said, "I guess I fell in love."

It is said that in love, the simplest moments become the most significant. Thus, as Kaito departed for Tokyo, leaving Nanaka and her family behind, a profound feeling took root in their hearts, promising a future filled with hope and possibilities.
