Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Shocker

Two hours later.

In a secluded area by the East River, Peter Parker, the Punisher, and Daredevil were waiting quietly.

Not far away, a pickup truck was parked with five people sitting inside.

These five were the remnants of the Hellhound gang.

They were unaware that they were being targeted by the Punisher and Daredevil.

However, Spider-Man, who could easily subdue them, was quite intimidating to the gangsters.

Desperately, they could only answer all questions, and then steered the topic to the arms deal happening that night.

Although unprofessional, they were gangsters after all, so how could they have any morals?

"Are we really going to sell out Shocker? I heard Joseph from East Side Street got beaten to a pulp by him for owing Shocker money!" A gangster named Bridges whispered.

"Otherwise? Didn't you see that Spider-Man guy take us down with a few blows? If I didn't say this to stall, would we still be sitting here? Have you forgotten about the Devil of Hell's Kitchen? Who knows if this Spider-Man is like that devil, killing people without blinking?" Another gangster, Barak, asked back.

"That may be what we say, but we're completely offending Shocker then," Bridges said.

"No, maybe this is our chance!" Barak smiled wickedly, a cunning look in his eyes.

"How do you mean?" Bridges asked.

Barak said, "If Spider-Man and Shocker both get taken down."

Bridges' eyes lit up, "Then we can kill Spider-Man and be rid of the threat, and we can also get Shocker's gear to increase our strength!"

Barak chuckled, "Exactly! With Shocker's terrifying equipment and the 'great achievement' of killing a superhero, we'll become the next Kingpin!"

"Hehehe~"

"Teeheehee~"

"Gahaha~"

The gangsters laughed triumphantly from the battered pickup truck.

In the distance, Daredevil and Peter were relatively speechless.

With their superhuman senses, they both heard the "conspiracy" of the gangsters who thought they had lowered their voices enough.

How to put it?

Well thought out indeed.

If it was only Peter himself facing Shocker with his high-tech gear without knowing the enemy's capabilities, it might be tricky.

But now, he knew Shocker's attack methods, and he had the Punisher and Daredevil to help him.

The villain was in trouble, so how could he lose?

The two heroes didn't try to break these guys' illusions.

On the way here, Peter had already learned about these gangsters' crimes from the Punisher.

The man named Barak trafficked and forced drugs on many people to control them, ruining some families in the process.

The guy named Bridges was a sadistic maniac who killed and maimed numerous people.

The others also had their own sins.

If it were the previous, idealistic Peter, he would have persisted in bringing them to justice properly.

After all, this is what Aunt May had always taught him.

But now, with the merciless Punisher present, it didn't matter - he would take action anyway.

Peter was just doing a favor by not interfering.

In truth, he couldn't stand people like them either.

The world would be better off with fewer such criminals.

After waiting a while, a van drove over from a distance.

When it stopped, a man hopped out of the passenger seat.

Peter's enhanced vision allowed him to clearly see what the man was wearing on his left hand, despite the distance.

It was a crude ring-shaped arm guard with circuits entangled on the outside.

This was likely Shocker and his powerful gauntlets.

But Peter thought it looked familiar.

Karen said, "After comparison, the item was originally the strength-enhancing glove belonging to former Hydra member Crossbones. During the Lagos operation, Captain America, Black Widow, Wanda, and Falcon fought him, and Crossbones was defeated. The enhanced glove was recovered by Damage Control."

"But it's here now?" Peter asked.

Karen said, "There's a 30% chance of a mole within the Damage Control Department; a 70% chance that Shocker robbed a Damage Control transport vehicle and stole the strength-enhancing gloves."

"Either way, this guy is pretty brazen. Quite bold," Peter shook his head slightly. These villains were truly daring. Whether it was the former or latter scenario, they deserved some jail time.

"Spider-Kid, if you don't take action, I'll act first," the Punisher took out a gun and pointed it at the deal location.

Peter quickly stopped him, "Don't kill Shocker, I need to find out his weapons factory's location from him."

"Hmph!" The Punisher was noncommittal, but he shifted the gun's muzzle slightly.

Peter rolled his eyes. If he hadn't voiced his intentions, would this guy's first shot have been meant to kill?

Thinking this, Peter no longer hesitated. He shot out webbing with both hands and launched himself forward.

When Peter moved, the Punisher opened fire.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

A gangster who had gotten out of the car had a bloody hole in his face and dropped down, face smashed.

"There's an ambush!" Shocker was shocked, "How dare you betray me!"

As he spoke, he raised his shock wave gauntlets and pointed them at the gangster Bridges who had been talking to him.

Boom!

A powerful shock wave burst out.

This shock wave appeared to be a type of sound wave, but with the frequency maximized to nearly form a solid substance, causing rippling distortions in the air.

The sonic speed traveled extremely fast, and in an instant, the shock wave slammed into Bridges.

Bridges's chest caved in instantly, his body knocked back several meters and falling to the ground, crumpling into a bloody mess.

"Damn it, run!" Barak, still in the truck, shouted quickly.

Their truck started moving immediately.

"Jackson, retreat quickly!" Shocker's terrified companion also yelled.

Shocker chased after the gangsters' truck, "No, I'm going to kill them!"

"You idiot, do you want to piss off the boss?" Shocker's companion's voice came out again.

At this moment, Peter also arrived on the scene.

He webbed up Shocker's field of vision, then stuck the webbing to the villain's body and pulled him over.

It was the first time Shocker encountered such an overwhelmingly powerful opponent, and he was clearly confused.

When he reacted and tried to attack with the shock wave gauntlet, Peter's reflexes were too quick. He slapped Shocker's shoulder with his palm, dislocating it, and then smoothly pulled the gauntlet off.

Peter's figure now stood under the bridge above.

He casually webbed up the tightly restrained Shocker, then examined the shock wave gauntlet.

"The modification tech is quite advanced. Do you have professional technicians working for you? Care to tell me who your boss is?"
