After his solo time for the day, Paul was ready to surge towards second place the next day. His consistent performance was proving to be a game-changer, as most players were unable to match his relentless progress.
In the rat race for the #1 spot on the leaderboard, a few factors determined whether someone could secure the top spot.
The most crucial factor was time spent; someone playing for 18 hours a day would almost certainly earn more CP than someone playing for 14 hours a day.
The second most important factor was CP/Hour.
If you played more than everyone else and had the highest CP/Hour, you would be #1; it was that simple.
