The doctor checked Bella's vitals. "Is there any pain?"
Bella nodded. "Yes, I feel pain in my head, but it's not unbearable." She paused, her voice turning urgent. "Doctor…" Her eyes, filled with uncertainty, met his. "I want to see my parents."
"We've already informed them. They will be here soon." He studied her carefully before speaking again. "Now, tell me—do you remember anything about the accident? How did you get hurt?"
Bella's brows furrowed as she tried to grasp at the hazy fragments in her mind, but all she could recall was Zack taking her away. Everything after that was a blur, like a dream slipping through her fingers before she could hold onto it.
"I don't know." She shook her head. "I don't remember how the accident happened. When I woke up, I found myself in a small room. That man, Zack—he claimed he was my fiancé. He even showed me photographs of our engagement." Her throat tightened. "But I don't remember anything."
