"Woosh" he regains consciousness and he's standing up inside his house. The shirt is still placed in his hand, but his focus is weary.
His pupils wide, his expression blank, his face pale. The sight to see is pain and confusion, he wonders:"can I respawn?"
Maxwell chuckles,"so you just found out huh? Guess you really are a player." Takeshi tilts his head in slight confusion, slightly misunderstood.
"I'm confused, I'm… still a little shaken up" he responds. "Well us people when we die, we respawn as well but under different names and separate memories." Maxwell explains somewhat seriously.
"I have a question though, since it's your first death-how did you die?" Maxwell request to know. Takeshi looks down and attempts to recall.
"I'm not sure, I opened a golden chest then I heard a click of some kind. Then from there it went black" he informs. Maxwell nods, and says:"seems you caught yourself a Dead Man's Chest."
"A dead man's chest?" Takeshi wonders aloud, the name sounds strange but he wouldn't be suprised if that's what caused all of this.
Maxwell nods, "yes the dead man's chest, it's a chest completely surrounded by traps, that kills anyone even the strongest. But I'm sure you came to that conclusion already" Maxwell states.
Takeshi is frozen in thought, not sure what nor to do next. His life had just ended now he's back? His heart beats fast, faster than the fastest car.
Takeshi tilts his head:"what was that?" He asks… he didn't hear a damn thing Maxwell said. Maxwell shrugs his shoulder, and turns his body taking a few steps before sitting back down in his chair.
"Can't blame you for being confused, it's your first time after all!" Maxwell chuckles. "Now go get some more resources, don't give up like the rest of them."
Takeshi appears even more bewildered, with his face taking the expression of a confused cat. He looks down then nears the door.
He reaches out his hand, and twist the knob before stepping out into the grass once again. The daylight is still the same brightness as the time he left.
Takeshi takes a quick gaze towards the sky, and begins his journey towards the cave once again. As he walks down the forrest of a trail, he begins to notice his heart race increasing.
It's becoming harder to get closer to the cave with every last step. The fear has gotten to him…
With his heart pounding through his chest, he takes his last step. The step that led towards the sight of the cave. The cave appears even larger and more intimidating than before.
Takeshi takes a massive gulp, and finally enters the cave. Inside the cave is even more terrifying than the outside.
He quivers from the pressure until he has made his way down the pit. After about half an hour of good movement, he has made his way back to the chest.
The chest seems to glint now more innocently than it did before. Last time it had a certain feeling coming from it, Mabey a mist like sensation.
Takeshi barely bottles up his courage to near the chest, he stands about 3 steps away from it. He leans down and reaches out, then he takes a step attempting to reach the chest.
His hand is close, but not close enough-meaning he has to take another step. The next step is taken, finally the chest is within his grasp.
His carefully touches the chest, then takes one look left and another gaze to the right. To end it off he pushes up the chest lid, revealing the contents of the interior.
Inside there's some red potions labeled "lesser healing potion" along with some bright grey bars of some sort, and finally there's some coins.
He hovers his hand over all three of the groups of items, and all of them vanish into his invisible backpack. Takeshi reaches back his hand and pulls forward the coins, finding that he has an abundance of the shiny objects.
He has three types of coins, one is made of copper, the other of silver, and the last of gold. The theory in his mind is that since he has mostly copper, they are worth the least.
Since coppers the least, silver and gold are worth the most. After coming to this conclusion he stands back up, and looks forward then backwards.
"Now… should I go back, or should I continue going deeper?" He wonders aloud. This question is a varying one, because earlier on he saw another massive hill similar in size to this one except for the fact it was missing a cave.
That hill was long and wide, instead of medium length and tall. It wasn't stubby, but the absence of a cave led to a conclusion that Takeshi should explore deeper.
And that's exactly what he did…
He exits the cave a few hours later, his backpack seems to weigh more than when he first entered. After he found the gold chest his journey ended in a dead end.
Now he's on his way back home, precisely ready to show Maxwell his new items. His journey back home was a short when with a varying pep in his step.
When he finally reached his house, he wasted no time in going back inside. Once inside the guide stood up and gazed at him ready to hear about the contents of his exploration.
"Lay out your new items on the table, and I'll give you a summary on what to do next" Maxwell informs him. Takeshi reaches back once again, and pulls out the items from before.
The potion, metal bars, and coins hit the table with a single paced group thud. Maxwell looks over them, and goes from hums to nods.
"You're ready, to get another citizen…" Maxwell announces bringing an end to this eventful chapter.
