Chapter 42. Demons
The inside of the ruins was even stranger than the fields outside.
This ruin is more like a dwelling than an archaeological site. Immediately after entering from the entrance of the ruins, a long corridor stretches out. As you go there, you will find several rooms along the way.
When I looked into one of the rooms, I saw a large field in the center. Nothing else.
It's a field again. If it is spread outward, why is there a field inside as well?
"Did the Ancient Bloods who live here really like the fields?"
Exploring the new room and seeing that it was a field spread out there, Lucia muttered softly.
"What is Ancient Blood that likes fields"
Fields are not something to be evaluated based on likes and dislikes.
"That's right. A field is a place where crops are grown. It's not the fields you like, aren't it?"
Noel says so, but it doesn't make sense that Ancient Blood likes crops.
Oh well. It doesn't matter what the Ancient Bloods are thinking here.
If it's still quietly sealed, that's fine, ....
"Huh?"
As they walked through the corridor to the depths of the ruins, Sakuya suddenly tilted his head curiously.
"Did you notice anything?"
"No, the door there is ajar for some reason..."
As I was told, the door to the room I was just about to pass by was slightly open.
I checked the inside, but there was a field in the room. In a large room, only the plowed soil asserts itself.
"It's the same as everywhere else, let's leave the inside of the room for later and head to the back."
Saying that I close the door, and Sakuya has a stunned expression.
"I thought I saw something that looked like a tomato just before you closed it."
"No, It didn't have that."
Open the door to the room again.
Then, there...
For some reason, before I knew it, a large stem had grown in the field, and a tomato was growing on it.
"...."
Close the door with a bang.
There was nothing there before, right?
I rubbed my eyes and opened the door again.
There are more tomatoes than before.
I closed the door again. Now stronger.
"Tomatoes... There it was."
"Yes... Tomato. And it's a lot."
Sakuya and I looked at each other and tilted our heads.
Why are tomatoes suddenly?
"What's wrong, Akira?"
Hearing the sound of the door closing vigorously, Lucia approaches.
"No, it's a tomato... It's growing all of a sudden."
"Tomato?"
Lucia opened the door and looked inside... She changed her face and slammed the door shut.
"Wait... What's that... it!"
"That's why... tomato."
"No, it's certainly a tomato... turn into a monster! I'm turning into a monster!"
Demonization?
Tomatoes... The demons?
Just as I was trying to make out what Lucia meant, the door suddenly roared and blew open.
Not only the door of the room I was looking at earlier but also the door I had passed so far.
Then, as if overflowing from each room, several vegetables with stem-like hands and feet appear.
"What's that!?"
"As you can see, these vegetables have turned into monsters!"
The flora and fauna of this world, and even inanimate objects such as puddles, can be demonized by the influence of magic. I understood this from the slime and drunken swallowtail quest I had taken before, but...
Did the vegetables have become demons?
That's funny. After all, there are vegetables anywhere.
Noelle said in a cold sweat.
"Oh my God, I don't know why, but the magic in this ruin is stronger than before. That field was empty a while ago, but it may be that vegetables were grown at high speed due to the influence of this magical power."
What kind of phenomenon is it that vegetables are grown at high speed?
But there are indeed vegetables that have been turned into monsters. Such a stupid phenomenon must be occurring. A large number of them approach us with a jerk.
"This is dangerous as it is, isn't it?"
"It's going to be bad, even though it's a vegetable... If we continue like this, we'll be sacked!"
We are outnumbered by many. It's bad to fight in such a narrow corridor.
"I'm going to run away!"
We turned our backs on the vegetable monsters and fled en masse.
"Even if you're going to run away... we'll end up being surrounded!"
Sakuya, who runs right behind me, says under her breath.
Yes, the monsters are coming from the room we passed through, it is from the entrance side, so if we try to escape from them, we will naturally go to the depths of the ruins.
In a way, it's a form of being pushed.
"Anyway, let's sow those vegetables!"
Sakuya was answered by Noel, who was running right next to me. Maybe it's because she's sprinting, but her big boobs are shaking insanely. I couldn't help but stare at it, but I gave up because I wasn't in that situation right now.
To escape from the vegetable monsters that are chasing us, I continue to run in the corridor to the right and left without thinking. I don't even know where or how I turned anymore.
Eventually, in front of us, there was a reddish-black door that looked distinctly different from the previous doors.
At first glance, the door looks quite sturdy. If you run away from there, you might be able to get away with it.
"Let's go into that room!"
I told the three of them, and I opened the door and jumped inside.
I quickly turned around and...
"Oh, hey!?"
For some reason, the three of them did not enter the room and closed the door from the outside.
"What are you guys doing?"
As I hurriedly opened the door, I heard the voices of Lucia and the others.
"Akira-san, please stay there!"
"I'm sure these vegetable demons can destroy this door as well!"
"So... We're going to beat them here!"
I raise my voice to the three of them.
"Are you sure you will be okay!?"
There are a lot of them. The vegetable monsters were small, but there were still dozens of them.
"Akira. If we defeat these vegetables safely, please have sex again..."
Lucia... is this unique to this world, like a death flag?
"When this fight is over, I'm going to have Akira suck my boobs again..."
"It's okay, Akira. I'm a masochist, so..."
Even Noel and Sakuya started to flag them for stupid death.
What kind of place is it like this?
Despite my lamentation, the sound of a fierce battle finally began to echo from the other side of the door.
"What a punch to the habit of a vegetable as a mere one! But even if this goddess apprentice Lucia loses like a vegetable... Whew! Whew! Carrot! This carrot is strong! Oh my gosh, my shins are kicked! Come on! Noel! Sakuya! Please help me!"
"Wait a minute, there's a cucumber guy over here... Ugh! I'm rubbing my face with warts! Don't kid yourself! I'll crush it with a chain and make it a sauce!"
"Let's chop it up with the first magic sword, the scorching flame fire, and stir-fry it with vegetables! What!? Why do the vegetable demons jump into my sword on their own!? Oh! Vegetable skewers with my sword!?"
"These guys are trying to get into your mouth and make them eat them without permission!? It's fine, it's a vegetable scum! I am goddess apprentice Lucia! I'll eat them all! Oh my gosh! Let's start with the peppers... It's bitter when it's raw!"
It looks like it's going to be okay. I am worried and lost.
Even though it is a monster, it is a vegetable. No matter how much Lucia and the others lose, they can't really lose. I'm struggling as much as I can.
Nevertheless...
Now that I had some time to spare, I looked around the room.
Only this room is different from the others. The difference is that there are no fields.
In addition to a beautiful table and chairs, furniture such as a bookcase, and even a bed in the back. This is a bedroom.
It is supposed to be an archaeological site buried in the soil, but the reason why you can't feel the passage of time from the neglected furniture is because it is preserved by the magical power of the Ancient Blood that is sealed here.
Even so, I'm worried about the bed. I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like the sheets are raised in a humanoid shape.
I am wondering if I should roll up the sheets and look inside.
"Hmmm..."
I heard a thin voice.
Surely?????? Is someone in bed after all?
Is it supposed to be sealed here the Ancient Blood?
My body becomes immobile due to tension.
The sheets moved around despite me, and eventually...
"Whew... I sleep well..."
A beautiful woman yawning prettily was getting up with a sleigh.
