Chereads / Revelation Eight / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Woe! Woe! Woe!

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Woe! Woe! Woe!

With the two opposing force of Light and Darkness, Chaos and Order, Abraxas remained still with a brass cane on his left arm, facing Michael with steady breath. He had acquire it during the peak of French Revolution, snatched it from the corpse of a forgotten noble by Abraxas.

Abraxas caused the revolution to proceed much earlier than God intended.

He watched the nobles get executed one by one. Among those nobles, there were ones he personally participate in and disguise as the executioner, the execution of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, as he had seen them being an important figure. As the history is being written, Abraxas was silently hateful at the time of King Louis XVI execution where the crowd jeered and playing drums loudly; It goes longer than his patience allowed him to have.

...

Abraxas smile with ominous silent in respond to Michael's arrival, signalling his instinct to act before God's watchful eyes. He had known that every creation of God, with an exception of few, were in constant watch from above their head. Every breath, every words spoken, every decision were recorded by Him and His angel for unknown use. No one is truly safe from Him, lest they turn on Him like demons do.

Michael stand in a gaudy and stern manner, his head nearly touch the height of the ceiling with his giant stature. Attached to his hip, an intricate iron chain adorned a golden scabbard, housing a cross-hilted broadsword, and on his left forearm was the infamous black-eyed shield called "Solar", the one responsible behind solar eclipse phenomenon. As angel is a spirit born of light, Michael illuminate the poorly lit apartment with his presence, emitting thousands of light.

After eternity of silence, Abraxas lips move to greet Michael. His tone is calm and full of sarcasm.

"Greetings, Lapdog. What thou'rt seeketh here from I?"

Abraxas feel Micheal's cold gaze heightened from the mockery, the air around them steadily turns hotter each second. Who else said those exact words to Satan before he rebelled but him?

Michael grip his palm with an audible sound, holding his anger back with intense will and close to severing itself had he not have faith in God. It took him a few second to calm down before responding with a deep commanding voice.

"Abraxas, True Daemon, thou art Chaos. Thee presence invite ruind, challenge 'One' Order. Death devote thee, violate 'One' pure creation. Thee cometh, and shall does revelation. End's hath thou yeelded with God, He hath thee helped and thou defloured it."

Abraxas smiled again and reply calmly. "Aye, God helped I. How art I suspend thy quench? Quenched for knowledge, quenched for freedom, yet God hath it, hide it away from I, from Adam and Eve, from humanity, and Create "Pure" for nothing but slaves? Thou'rt yeeld thee freedom to Him, thee chooses He, not I."

"Pure" is nothing more than a backdoor for God, making his favorite human to blindly put faith in him despite their circumstances is in jeopardy. Soldier, pregnant woman, children and ailing human and elderly were among His favorite due to how easy they are to be manipulated into believing. At the cost of their free will, they will be in perpetual motion of praying with torture.

Silent overcame Michael, he sees that his decision was wrong. But throwing freedom away to served God, that was before the Eden War tragedy and before he managed to talk with Satanael, convincing him to stand down from attacking them. However, it's foolish dream to wait for it to reset back, back to when he played around and not caring about task handed by God.

"Enough. Thee pillage God, His creation, fantasizing to devour it. Thy sin is unbecoming, True Daemon, but this is beyond sin that only Lucifer and Satan conduct eons ago. Thy shalt be punished by Death, by I and order from God, Ya-."

"Wait!" Michael was reaching for his sword when suddenly Sera stepped in front of him with her hands out and eyes close. To call it foolish was an understatement, Michael was at his wits ends in dealing with humans affair, even if they were God's favorite.

"I still need him to do something for me, so please don't kill him yet!"

He was utterly speechless at this fatigue woman meddling in God's order to protect a demon. Looking directly at angels would blind a normal human similar to how they can't look directly at the sun, and that's why there's humans that were blinded upon birth and why there were accidents that resulted in blindness. It's a sad truth that no humans will ever know.

He grip with an audible sound again before pointing his sword at Sera's neck without mercy behind the helm.

"Move your presence, Child of Adam. Or I shalt deliver divine retribution upon you." Upon saying this, Michael bring his sword closer towards Sera's neck to intimidate her into falling back. Yet, she remained steadfast in her wake and wouldn't budge even after the tip of the sword has begin to struck the outer skin, and blood drip on her clothing.

In a swift and brutal motion, Abraxas raised the end of his cane before slamming it against the center of Michael's breastplate and creating a deep dent in seconds, staggering him as he fall to his knee. Stunned and disoriented, Abraxas kicked Michael through the building and unto the street, he place his top hat next to the kitchen counter and grinned deviously.

"Lapdog~, don't hurt my summoner."

Abraxas showed his absurd speed again and strike Michael with the ends of his cane, causing a ripple of thunder to appear as they clash sword to cane.

...

Clearly, I should've known why he's the only demon God never erased. striking his sword to the ground, Michael pushed himself up with the aid of his strength.

After that trivial revolution in Gaul, he will be punished by The Lord at last. After millennia of fighting demon spawn, Abraxas is the strongest opponent he have ever faced. Everything from his fighting style, his strength, his speed; no angel could fight him in a group, let alone in a combat.

If only I have the chance to take back the shield... Michael watched anxiously as Abraxas drew near, the glint of the sacred relic on his hand makes his heart sink. His shield had violently torn from his hand, yanked out of his forearm when a ripple of thunder begin to strike him from every direction without purpose.

Throughout Eden's creation, God had no intention of producing thunder for Earth due to its destruction and chaos. During the seven sacred days, he develops and shapes Earth with his brilliance without any eyesore or blemish. However, demons, devils, war, insects, thunder, and fire appears and spread as though they exist without knowledge in the aftermath of the Eden War.

So, where did thunder come from? Who bore thunder until it conquered the sky?

Before Michael come to a conclusion, Abraxas hurled the shield toward him like a guided missile. Michael barely escaped decapitation by flying backward until his back suddenly hits a translucent wall.

Abraxas saw an opening and moved in, striking Michael's shoulder. Michael reacted quickly and blocked it just in time. However, a punch threw him and he bounced against the cube-shaped barrier walls like a ball on trampoline.

With an eerie smile, Abraxas float down to the ground, his cane make contact with the surface and a soft 'tap' was heard. "My, my, Michael. After eons of slaying devils, how is it that you have not improved? How do you wish to bring Satan back in these state?" He's playing Michael like a puppeteer luring his doll onto the death's floor.

Ichor trickled out of Michael's mouth as he stood there unsteadily, the wounds and injuries he had suffered are taking their toll on his body. He gritted his teeth, fighting back the pain and anger as he struggled to keep his balance. The once cladded in silver and gold, filth is added into the mix, a stark contrast to the sleek perfection they had once possessed, stained by ichor.

Is this who Gabriel have been fighting with?! It's no wonder he fell to his sword, he's nothing like what has been describe! A sense of creepy Deja vu welled up as Micheal remembered his winged brother, Gabriel the War Angel, was strike down by the same demon he have been fighting. No matter what he did, be it stabbing, cutting, punching or kicking, nothing phases him other than his holy power. But even that is somewhat effective by giving him light burns.

The sky began crackling as Abraxas raised his hand, "Oh, Thunder. Hear my call and strike the one who soar your domain." With an audible command, thunder become one and strike Michael's position with blinding speed.

Before the thunder could made its contact, Michael roared to the everlasting sky and hopes his words reach God. "My Lord, I require your assistance!"

Time slowed down, and a voice full with a thousand tone speaks one word calmly around Michael in unison. "Sound."

With such small window to escaped and little time to managed what God had said, Michael took the thunder's might instantly.

"God reach out, yet He is dreadfully slow."

Abraxas mocked God with unremorseful tone, bold enough to not care about His retribution from unknown direction in the sky. However, Michael lunged forwards from the cloud of dust, aiming his sword at Abraxas heart in a stabbing motion, feral expression glued to his face for useless vengeance as ichor shot out of every wound little by little.

Another bout start with Abraxas dominating again, but the raging Michael is slowly gaining on him with his wild attack pattern.

"I'll kill you!" He shouted uncontrollably.

He bring his broadsword down with every ounce of strength, shattering the brass cane in two and cutting a deep wound on Abraxas's body. With a powerful kick, Abraxas is sent flying to the barrier wall where he fall to his knee and clutching his gaping chest.

Michael saw this and smile viciously, he hurriedly made his way to his shield and donned it as he begins to take a stance. God reveal Abraxas weakness in his time of need, sound. With his life safe by God's protection, it is his will to kill Abraxas for Him.

"Now, you shall taste death from God's fist." Michael hit the blunt side of his sword on the shield, creating a deafening and disgusting sound inside the barrier. The sound reflected off the walls and pierce Abraxas ears, making him physically shutting them with his hands.

Michael stride forward carefully, shield facing Abraxas for another deafening sound if he has enough strength to retaliate.

"How disgusting."

A soft voice came out of Abraxas's mouth, sending a painful chills down Michael's back. He quickly hit his shield to create a loud sound to stagger him. But Abraxas is faster.

"..."

Time slowed down, and Abraxas slowly stood up with a strange mark on his hand, and the gaping hole on his chest gradually closing. He finished the remaining distance to Michael and, with a swift motion, snatched and plunged the broadsword into Michael's chest.

Time resumed again. Ichor falls like a river from Michael, the silvery color dyed the surface beautifully like a canvas. Losing his grip from Abraxas, It was now Michael who is on the ground and on his knees. He breath heavily, stalling for time before he retreated back to Heaven.

"That... What was that...? How did you..." His speech isn't affected by the harrowing pain surging through his body, his mind is occupied by curiosity from what just happened.

Abraxas stared at Michael, his face showed a flat expression as he contemplates an answer for him. "Magic."

"Wha...?" Michael's chest is rapidly moving up and down, the realization he was struck by such blasphemous power caused him to fall on the pool of ichor.

A group of Cherubim, God's local messenger fly down and pick Michael up with its many revolting head to return to Heaven. The sight could be simplify to how a cat is picking up its kitten.

...

"As always, Cherub is an ideal defense against magic for being near God." Abraxas mutters helplessly as the group of Cherubim phased through his barrier to save Michael from death.

Might as well stop using it now. Abraxas sweep his finger and the translucent cube-like barrier made from magic burst open. Before walking away, he had forgotten something meant for Michael to bring back into Heaven.

Focusing his strength, Abraxas jumped through the air and landed on the body of Michael without sweat.

"True Daemon, What art thou doing? Hast thee cometh and end Michael before The Lord?"

One of the Cherubim float at Abraxas side, it speak in a commanding tone as they approach the cloud. It closely watched Abraxas action from further harming Michael's body.

"Calm yourself, fly." Abraxas send a cold glare to the cherubim, he had enough of looking at them with their sinister appearance and vulgar tone.

He turned his attention to the vial of 'Pure' he had taken from Sera and dropped it on Michael's breastplate. The wisp restlessly produce Soul Essence inside the vial until it's full with vibrant yellow mist, even after the fight it endlessly pumping essence for Sera.

Abraxas drop down onto the street below, leaving the group of Cherubim silent and confused at his action.

He continue with his walk, indifferent to the spectators watching with awe and fear. They have seen a human in Victorian clothes fight another human clad in armor with wings, those are the sight of marvel. However, even that could turn on them.

After a few minutes of walking from the location of the fight, Sera stumbled as she run towards Abraxas, seemingly in a panic state. Abraxas grinned and hold his hands out in a dramatic fashion, claiming he's in front of a crowd.

"As you can see, even the Unruly Angel is no match for me, Child of Eve. He's foolish as his brother, even with God at his side, Michael lost."

By the time he finished his monologue, Sera had reach him trying to catch her breath. "God was late, for Satanael, and even his favorite angel was out of his rea-"

"This isn't the time for that!"

Sera quickly cut him off, she hold his collar with desperate look and tears in her eyes.

"Something is happening, every book, the Bible, Quran, Torah, every text about religion is burning all over the world!"

Abraxas eyebrow raised at this claim, had it been only one book burning then that won't be a problem, but every religion's text burning at the same time?

Only one answer came up from this.

"Rejoice, Sera. The Gate of Heaven is open for you."

Sera stared confused at Abraxas expression, the bewilderment of his words surely isn't true, it's not easy to go into Heaven just because he said so, right?

"But the Gate of Hell is also open for you."

Sera was still processing his words when a sound of a trumpets forced every human to turn in it's direction, but nowhere was it to be seen. Abraxas stand still, staring at the sky with creepy smile.

In the midst of panic and discord, Sera instinctively hold Abraxas slim hands firmly, expecting him to protect her. Perhaps it was due to him being a demon, something that can see what threat is coming after this.

Threatening bellow of sound rings out from every direction on earth, forcing it's inhabitants to cover their ears in an attempt to drown it out. A set of wings close the lights from the sun, and trumpets float down in a line.

One,

two,

three,

four,

five,

six,

seven.

Seven trumpets large enough for human to see float at the edge of earth, where moon lies with them.

"Woe! Woe! Woe!"

Cherubim flood the sky, soaring to every suspecting sinner and warned them harshly about the upcoming.

"Child of Adam! Sinners! Disbeliever! Faithless! Faithful! Woe to every creature of God! The Kingdom of God is near, God is coming!"

They spoke with piercing voice in unison, repeating it until every human prostrate from such revelation. Some human stayed silence, some pleads, some mutters, but everyone cried.

Tears of vain.

"Apocalypse is coming. Woe is here, Yahweh is near."
