"Come forth, my demonic guqin," Li Yun Fei commanded. However, he observed the guqin still floating in the air, refusing to move even an inch.
"Fuck the Deity, are you kidding me right now? Am I hallucinating?" he muttered in frustration.
"Aiya, I forgot, this is not my original body, and I am not its owner anymore," he realized.
"Forget it. I will store it for now and refine it later," he determined.
He arranged the chairs and tables on the bed to reach the height where the guqin floated. Carefully, he retrieved it and returned the furniture to its original place.
"Now that I got it, where should I hide it?" he pondered.
"Nevermind, I'll just place it in my bag," he concluded.
He located his bag in the room and carefully tucked the demonic guqin inside.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Li Yun Fei's mother entered. Upon seeing her son holding the black guqin, she paused, momentarily stunned, before a smile spread across her face, mistakenly thinking he had chosen to play the guqin after years of trauma from his childhood.
"Son, why are you standing? Aren't you feeling well? Quickly, lie down on the bed," she urged.
Then, noticing the guqin again, she exclaimed with joy and tears in her eyes, "My son, you've finally picked up the guqin again and don't feel anything?"
Li Yun Fei was taken aback, his mind flooded with memories of his past. There was a time when he was a young boy of six, passionately playing the guqin, praised as a prodigy. At eight, he even had the honor of performing alongside the legendary guqin master Tang Jun. Everything seemed perfect until one day, during a performance, a terrifying visage with blackened fangs which are bloodstained appear in his mind. How could a child endure such a sight? Since then, he had avoided the guqin at all costs.
"Mom, yes, I feel fine now. I will play the guqin again," Li Yun Fei said with a warm smile.
His mother's face lit up with joy. "It's wonderful, truly wonderful," she exclaimed, relieved and overjoyed.
"Wait, son, I'll call your cousin, Doctor," said Mom excitedly, running off to the corridor.
After a while, the doctor arrived with nurses in tow, exclaiming, "Brother, you've finally woken up! When you passed out, I couldn't find a reason despite numerous medical checkups. Oh, thank heavens you're awake now."
"Oh, I forgot, hehe. Let's attend to the medical necessities," the doctor replied.
During his brief encounter with his cousin, Li Yun Fei found him to be excessively talkative. "Alas, having a family is one of my dreams, but having such a talkative relative is a headache," he thought to himself.
"Cousin, Auntie Jiang, everything seems fine. He just needs to fill out some paperwork, and then you can take him home," the doctor assured them, handing over the necessary documents.
"Thank you, nephew. Please convey my gratitude to your father for arranging the VIP room so quickly," Li Yun Fei's mother expressed her thanks.
Once the paperwork was completed, Li Yun Fei's mother called her husband, Li Tian, a renowned guqin master, and instructed the maids to pack up their son's belongings.
Lost in thought, Li Yun Fei reflected on the feeling of being cared for. "Is this what it feels like to have a family? It's comforting. In my past life, I only knew how to stay with Yue Qian and neglected the importance of cultivation. In this life, I won't make the same mistake again because now I have more to protect—my family."
Thirty minutes later, a line of black cars arrived to take them home. As the maids loaded their belongings into the cars, Li Yun Fei and his mother settled into one of them. Inside, a middle-aged man in black sat at the driver's seat.
"Aren't Dad coming?" Li Yun Fei asked.
"Young master, Master is currently in Taiwan and has booked a return trip for 9 p.m.," the driver replied.
"Ah, I see," Li Yun Fei acknowledged.
During the journey home, Li Yun Fei sensed the presence of qi, but it was impure and much worse than ordinary qi. "This world may be of a very low level, but at least I can still cultivate. Yue Qian is dead. If I want to find her, I'll need to construct the 'Six Paths of Reincarnation' formation," he resolved.
Examining his body's meridians and physique, he discovered he possessed an Extreme Darkness Physique and twelve demon meridians. With a sigh, he accepted his fate. "Well, if fate has destined me to walk the demonic path, then so be it."
Recalling various demonic cultivation methods learned from Yue Qian and from his adventures with her, he made a decision. "I don't want to waste time. I need to become strong enough to match my physique and build my foundation quickly. I must cultivate the 'Heavenly Demon Secret Art.' As for combat, I need to refine my body. The best choice for that is the 'Purgatory Flesh Purification' technique."
As Li Yun Fei delved into his thoughts on cultivation techniques, his mother's voice interrupted him. "Son, we've arrived home," she said.
She called out to the mansion, summoning Xiao Jiao to assist Li Yun Fei to his room. "Coming!" replied a fatty young man around Li Yun Fei's age, swiftly taking charge of his belongings and leading the way.
Once Li Yun Fei's belongings were carefully arranged, he instructed Xiao Jiao to ensure his privacy, forbidding anyone from disturbing him.
"Phew, finally I have some privacy," he sighed in relief, retrieving the demonic guqin to examine it. However, he soon noticed something strange.
"How is this possible? In my previous life, I refined this with my divine spirit. Even in death, my spirit mark shouldn't have faded. Where is the mark? And how did this guqin suddenly appear at the hospital? Could it be related to my awakening memories?" he pondered, feeling increasingly puzzled and annoyed by the unanswered questions.
"Fuck it, I don't want to think about it now. Since there's no owner, I can easily make it recognize me as its master," he resolved, biting his thumb and dripping blood onto the guqin. As the guqin vibrated and finally acknowledged him as its master, he proceeded to cultivate the "Heavenly Demon Secret Art" cultivation technique.
As he channeled qi into his meridians and throughout his body, he discovered that, true to its name, the technique allowed him to absorb qi at an astonishing rate even in the lower plane.
Progressing through the stages of meridian refinement, he then attempted to break through the Dantian formation stage. However, his body suddenly released a massive wave of energy and qi, causing a deafening boom that reverberated throughout the mansion.
Downstairs, his parents were talking about him "Husband, I saw our son holding a black guqin. He finally touched it after all these years," Li Yun Fei's mother exclaimed.
"Really? Haha, that's my son! I always knew he would play the guqin again. My faith wasn't in vain," Li Yun Fei's father chuckled.
A huge explosion rocked the mansion, causing concern for Li Yun Fei's father. "What's happening, husband?" his mother said anxiously.
"It's not good. It's coming from Fei Er's room," Li Yun Fei's father responded, his worry growing with each successive surge of energy and qi. Without a moment's hesitation, Li Yun Fei's father dashed upstairs, his heart pounding with worry. Bursting into his son's room, he was met with a scene of chaos. Energy crackled in the air, and the room was filled with a dense aura of demonic qi.
