Chapter 62 - I'm serious about the marriage

The next day, Bella found Lucas standing at her doorstep waiting for her to apen the door. She asked him to come in. Actually she also want someone to talk about all this too.....she hadn't tell about this to anyone yet so she just kept on thinking about future all by herself.

She agreed to make a future, a family with him, raise this child with him but it's easier said than done. Although she said yes to his proposal, she realised she still didn't know much about him, his personality.

It was late in the evening when Lucas finally broke the silence. They had been sitting side by side on the couch, the soft glow of the lamp casting a gentle light over the room.

Rachel was already in bed, it is because she went to school picnic today. It's a rare event and the quiet of the house made the weight of the moment heavier.

"Can we talk?" Lucas asked, his voice low.Bella looked up at him, a little hesitant but nodding. "About what?"

"About everything," he said, his gaze steady on hers. "The pregnancy... the future. Us."

Her heart pounded in her chest, but she didn't look away. "I know we've been talking a lot about what happens next, but I'm still not sure how to handle all of this."

"I understand," he said softly. "You're scared, and I don't blame you. It's a lot to process. But I want you to know, I'm here and I'm serious about the marriage. I'm not going anywhere."

She swallowed hard, feeling tears well up in her eyes. "I never expected any of this. One minute, I'm just trying to get through each day with Rachel, and then this... pregnancy changes everything. And it's not just about me anymore. It's about a life. And it terrifies me."

Lucas reached over, gently taking her hand. "I can't pretend to know how you feel. But I want you to know, you're not alone in this. We'll figure it out together."

"I'm scared about being a mother," she admitted, her voice trembling. "Rachel's my world, but this baby... I never imagined I'd be in this position."

"You're a wonderful mother already," Lucas said, his voice steady. "And you will be again. You have this incredible strength inside you that I've seen time and time again. And I know, no matter how hard it gets, you'll rise to the occasion."

She looked at him, seeing the sincerity in his eyes. "And what about you? Are you ready for this? For all of it?"

He hesitated, then nodded slowly. "I'll be honest. I'm nervous too. But I've never wanted anything more than this. I want to be there for you and for this child. I'm ready for all this. And I'll be whatever you need me to be...whether it's a partner, a father... or just someone who listens."

The weight of his words hung in the air. They didn't need to say much more—just being there for each other in that moment was enough.
