Chapter 36 - Mumma are you angry with me

Bella: Rachel.... enough is enough. Aren't you becoming too much demanding... He can come tomorrow again but he needs to leave now.

Forget about the little girl...I also shuddered slightly hearing her shout. I looked down and saw the child flinch.

Her eyes pricked with tears, threatening to fall anytime. She looked so much delicate right now that I felt the urge to argue with Bella. But she was also right.

Giving in to every demand of your children makes them spoiled. But all of my reasons died after hearing her sobbing holding my legs.

Lucas: It's fine...I will play with you. Okay? Stop crying now.

I wiped her cheeks and tapped her little nose. She smiled and took me to her room. Did she only act like that to make me agree? Even if she did, I still want to see her smile.

Bella followed us, clearly angry of her daughter's manipulative attitude. We entered the room and she went to grab her toys.

Bella: You didn't have to agree to her. She can meet you some other day, if you have to go now.

Lucas: Let it be...I am going on a trip tomorrow anyway, so I won't be here for a week. That's why I agreed.

Bella: If it is fine with you, you can play with her. I need to wash the dishes....I will leave you two.

Lucas: Sure....

She left and I looked at Rachel, who is still deciding what she needs to play. But suddenly she get up and run out of the room. What's wrong?

I also run after her only to realise she entered the kitchen. I also followed her and stopped at the door.

The little girl is clutching to the hem of her mother's dress, while her mother indifferently washed the dishes.

Rachel: Mumma what should I play?

Bella: How would I know? You wanted to play with him so do what you want.

She emphasized on every 'you'. Her voice was calm but still had a tinge of sarcasm. She is quite angry.

Rachel: Mumma, are you angry with me?

Bella: No I'm not.

Liar. You didn't even looked at her.

Rachel: I just wanted to play with him. If you say....I will send him back.

Bella finally stopped doing her work and looked at the child calmly. Did she agree to send me back? I won't go now. I'm already late, so what's the need to go now.

Bella got on her knees and reached the same level as her daughter. She grabbed her shoulders lightly and explained with the sweetest voice I've ever heard of her.

Bella: Baby, I'm not against you playing with him. But the way you asked him to play with you is wrong. You can't force someone to agree with you. You know this is wrong, right?

Rachel: I'm wrong. Sorry mumma, I won't do this again.

I listened to the conversation and realised how Bella's thinking is matured. She didn't shout at her for her mistake.
