Chapter 1 - chapter 1

I stood there, paralyzed by the sight of her. "Thanda," I whispered to myself, unable to comprehend that she was standing right in front of me. My legs felt like lead, my head spinning as her eyes bore into mine, searching my very being. Memories of our past flooded back, the pain and heartache of what happened when I was just 18 and she was 20. With a racing heart, I rose from my seat and made my way towards the exit. Stepping outside the cafeteria, I broke into a run towards my dormitory, my first breakdown in years threatening to consume me. I knew running away wasn't the answer, but in that moment, it was all I could do to escape the overwhelming rush of emotions her presence had stirred within me. I needed time to gather my thoughts before facing her again.

I needed to focus on my mission and not let her distract me. But as I lay in bed that night, her presence lingered in my mind, stirring up old feelings and doubts. I knew I couldn't avoid her forever, but for now, I needed to protect myself from the chaos she brought into my life.

a siren echoes through the night calling us towards the great halls, As I entered the hall, I saw her standing at the front, looking as confident and charming as ever. My heart skipped a beat, but I quickly composed myself and found a seat towards the back. I needed to stay strong and not let her see how much she still affected me.

I couldn't shake off the shock of seeing her there, standing alongside the chef commander. Her sudden appearance on campus was unexpected and left me wondering about her intentions. What was she doing here, and why was she with him? The questions swirled in my mind as I tried to make sense of the situation.

There was a moment of silence before Siyalian stepped forward, "Sir, what are the specific instructions for the rescue mission? Are there any particular protocols we need to follow?" she asked, her voice steady and confident.

The commander nodded, "You will be briefed on the details once you receive your envelopes. Follow the instructions carefully and work together as a team. Lives are at stake, and we must act swiftly and efficiently."

With that, the envelopes were distributed, and the soldiers began pairing up and heading out to their assigned areas. The mission was clear - save as many lives as possible, no matter the cost.
