Li Manli opened the cabinet below and found a box from which she retrieved Grandpa's reading glasses. She polished them with a cloth until they were clean, then hurried back and handed them to Li Gaoshan with both hands.
Li Gaoshan took a deep breath, trying to keep his hands from trembling as he received the glasses and put them on his ears. Then he carefully examined the egg.
