Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Restless Mind and Heart

Liu Zheng calmed down and grabbed a handful of his hair.

"Sister-in-law, I'm going to wash up; I sweated a lot just now."

Making an excuse, Liu Zheng escaped as if he were running for his life.

He felt a bit awkward looking at his sister-in-law.

After all, the things his brother had told him upstairs had kept his mind restless.

Glancing at Liu Zheng's retreating figure, Wu Min thought her brother-in-law was acting a bit strange.

However, she didn't think too much of it.

Having tidied her clothes, she turned and left to make dinner.

After dinner, Liu Zheng returned to his own room.

Of course, he indeed hadn't locked the courtyard gate.

The nights in the countryside were relatively peaceful; people didn't lock the courtyard gates during the day, but they usually would at night.

However, Liu Zheng kept remembering what Xu Xiulan had told him, to leave the door open for her.

Even though he felt it wasn't right, that very thrilling feeling still distracted him.

But, just after half-past eight, when twilight had barely begun to fade, Xu Xiulan hadn't arrived, but his sister-in-law pushed open his room door instead.

It was summer now.

His sister-in-law was wearing very thin clothes that night.

A red jacket with tiny floral prints bulged at the chest, accentuating its prominent rise.

Her fair skin glowed under the incandescent lighting.

Her figure was lovely and svelte, with long, watery eyes fringed with long lashes.

Although the clothes she wore were plain and even coarse, they could not hide her delicate and beautiful form.

Such a woman, almost no man could resist.

At that moment, Liu Zheng felt the urge to reach out and grab her, then pull her into his arms to cherish her tenderly.

But.

The next instant, he was frightened by his own thoughts.

"Cough cough!"

He coughed hard, then bit his tongue.

After regaining some of his senses, he felt a slight itch on his lip right below his nose.

"What? Surely I'm not getting nosebleeds?"

With that thought, he subconsciously wiped under his nose.

Fortunately, there was no nosebleed; it was just his imagination.

"Liu Zheng, thank you so much for what you did today."

Upon entering, Wu Min saw Liu Zheng looking dazedly at her.

That straight, piercing gaze, even she felt a scorching sensation.

As a woman, she was very sensitive to such a gaze from a man.

However.

Liu Zheng soon snapped out of it, which made Wu Min a bit dazed herself.

"But, the debts Liu Kai talked about today are just too much. Fifty thousand yuan—in three days, where will you find the money?"

As she spoke, Wu Min furrowed her brows, and her eyes even grew misty.

"It's okay, sister-in-law, don't worry, I have a way."

Now that he knew he had truly received the legacy of the fairy sister, Liu Zheng felt that fifty thousand yuan was still within easy reach.

Wu Min didn't think so.

"Liu Zheng, why can't you understand? If you can't produce the money, you'll be ruined. You can't defeat them," Wu Min grew more anxious as she spoke.

"It's okay, sister-in-law, I..."

"Enough! Don't say any more..."

Wu Min cut Liu Zheng off directly and took two steps forward.

Her eyes, fixed on Liu Zheng, her teeth biting her lower lip, her inner struggle had now turned into determination.

The matter that her husband had mentioned to her, in fact, they had discussed it between them half a year ago.

At first, Wu Min found it difficult to accept.

But then,

after Liu Daniu had whispered to her ear for a long time, her thoughts gradually began to change.

Indeed, what her husband said wasn't wrong.

As of now, she was unable to provide the Liu Family with an heir.

Moreover, the family was extremely poor, and who knew how long it would be before Liu Zheng could marry and have children.

If she really wanted to leave an heir for the Liu Family without incurring any costs, then the only way was to do "that" with Liu Zheng.

Although there was the risk of being ridiculed and pointed at behind her back by others,

for the sake of the Liu Family, she was starting to care less and less about such things.

After all, no matter what, the child that would be born would carry the Liu Family's blood.

Today, her husband once again brought up the matter and even said that once the deed was done, they would leave the village to start a new life somewhere unknown to others.

Initially, she was very resistant.

But then,

upon entering Liu Zheng's room, and catching sight of his gaze,

and hearing him mention a way to obtain the fifty thousand yuan, her heart softened on the spot.

Rather than being with three people who are miserable, it might be better to just go for it and leave with Liu Zheng.

Thinking of this, Wu Min took a step forward.

Then,

she extended her fair and delicate hand and gently untied the strap on her left shoulder.

The next instant, the strap on the left side of her dress fell down.

And Liu Zheng, standing opposite her, felt his vision brighten, followed by utter astonishment.

For he saw a swath of snowy whiteness.

Truth be told, sister-in-law Wu Min's skin was really fair, seeming very smooth and silky.

That sight, truly, was dazzling to the point of blinding.

Just an hour or two ago, when Liu Kai had come to make trouble and tried to force himself on her, Wu Min's clothes were in disarray, but Liu Zheng hadn't paid much attention to her body at that time.

Now, under the incandescent light, Wu Min's body was captivating to an extreme degree.

Gulping hard, Liu Zheng felt his head starting to spin.

"Sister-in-law, you… what is this…"

At that moment, Liu Zheng found himself parched and tongue-tied.

"Xiaozheng, your brother must have told you, I, I…"

Wu Min just couldn't finish what she was saying.

But she had started, so Liu Zheng must have understood.

Without continuing, she let her actions speak for everything.

She took a step forward and then suddenly knelt in front of Liu Zheng.

She reached out with her fair hands, touching Liu Zheng's belt.

By this point, anyone would understand what was about to happen.

Wu Min's heart was racing, a tumultuous tide of surging emotions.

Keep in mind, although she was already a wife, the incident causing Liu Daniu's injury happened just two weeks after their wedding night.

Because Liu Daniu had to leave for errands right after their marriage, this resulted in the couple never consummating their marriage.

Until the point of Liu Daniu's disability, the two of them had never consummated their marriage.

So, today was supposed to be Wu Min's first time.

Her emotions were complex.

Moreover, there was that sense of thrill.

Her husband, in name, was right upstairs in the room above.

And the man in front of her was his younger brother, which really was quite thrilling.

Her cheeks flushed, she breathed rapidly, and amidst her sweet exhalations, she was visibly bashful.

This was her first time undoing a man's belt, and her first time being so intimate with a man—Wu Min felt like her heart could leap out at any moment.
