Early the next morning, Wang Daniu woke to find Shen Zongyuan already seated in the living room, with dark circles under his eyes, looking as if he hadn't slept all night.
"Big brother, you're up early."
Wang Daniu greeted him, and Shen Zongyuan managed a smile.
"Yeah, how did you sleep last night?"
Wang Daniu's heart skipped a beat, recalling the absurd incident with his sister-in-law from the night before.
Awkwardly, he replied, "Not so great, just so-so."
"My place is small, doesn't really accommodate guests well, I really put you out."
"Big brother, I didn't mean that," said Wang Daniu, scratching his head, feeling somewhat guilty.
Shen Zongyuan then stood up and said, "I'm going to take care of some things in the village. There's breakfast on the table. After you wash up, go and eat. But don't be in a hurry to leave, I have something to tell you."
"Okay, sure," Wang Daniu nodded and headed to the dining room, where he saw Fang Yuan pouring milk for him.
