On the other side, Wang Daniu, heartbroken yet completely unaware, hurried towards the village.
All along the way, Wang Daniu kept comforting himself that breaking up with Yang Mimi was for the best, since Grandpa didn't approve anyway. He could always remain a bachelor for life.
Now, almost back at home, thinking of Grandpa and his sister-in-law, Wang Daniu felt much better.
Seeing the clear stream at the entrance of the village, Wang Daniu stopped to wash his face, hoping to wash away his bad luck as well.
At the village entrance, several old ladies were sitting under a tree chatting, enjoying gossiping about everybody's business.
"Fourth Grandma, sunbathing?"
Wang Daniu greeted them, but no one paid him any attention. The crowd scattered with a buzz, pointing fingers at him.
"What's going on, why isn't anyone grilling me with questions?"
Wang Daniu was puzzled, wondering why these people were acting so strange.
Wang Daniu shook his head and continued towards the village.
