"So-called happiness is just a fluke..."
Dai Lin chewed over this sentiment in the hospital β a place all too familiar with life's departures and death's finality. His mentor once told him that as a doctor, one shouldn't be overly sentimental, but rather, view life more objectively and rationally. After all, doctors are not gods and often face diseases that are simply incurable. This is true in any hospital.
As time passed, just as Gao Heyann had said, as long as one wished to stay awake, they would not feel any sleepiness at all.
This must be the effect of a cursed object on a doctor, the so-called "Ghostly Physique."
Then, Gao Heyann took out a photograph.
In the photo, a woman was holding a boy.
"Lu Ning," Gao Heyann spoke to the photo, "I've thought it over, from now on, report to me every twenty minutes."
Immediately after, Dai Lin saw the woman in the photo nod at Gao Heyann!
"What's this?" Dai Lin asked, puzzled, "A cursed object?"
